  1. Hello! I have a question regarding an interview for AOS based on K1 visa. Do I need to have an original I-797 (NOA2 from K1) for the interview? Some backgrounds : We did our K1 process with a help of an immigration law company, so when our petition was approved USCIS sent them an original I-797 and we got an official copy I-797C. when I started to prepare my AOS package I noticed that and texted the company asking them to send me a scanned copy of the original I-797 via email (so I could go ahead and finish preparing AOS package), as well as to send the original document via postal mail. They sent us a scanned copy, but nothing via postal mail. I sent my AOS package, had biometrics. So do I need the original I-797? Or could I use copy I-797C? Or I do not need it at all?
  2. Hello!!! I am K1 visa, but they contacted me twice via email only first time they requested to send them via email scans of some documents, then in couple days they sent me a second email requesting to send them more documents via post but as I said above I’m k1 visa i have heard that some time ago they would send a Package 3 via post but now I guess they do all via email You still have around 2 months so I think NVC should be able to send your documents to the consulate in time But if NVC doesn’t send your documents to Tokyo consulate by beginning of August, you could send an email to the consulate and explain your situation
  3. Hello again J We provided an email when we were filling out the I-129 form so I think they should have your email address. But also there is a way to update it. Please use this PDF file page 1 to see how to update an email. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nfin98c33IEpB0T0FlURERriblYmlm5O/view?usp=sharing When our case was sent to the Embassy they sent us a notice email so it seems that it works but only when they already sent cases out from NVC.
  4. Hey! Our NOA2 is 17th of April, NVC got our case on 12th of May. i called then first time about our case number on 16th of May and no case number at that moment. Then I called them on 18th of May and they told me our case number. Out case is still at the NVC according to their track website. Also when they assigned us the case number, there were no notice email although we registered one. And still no email 😅😅😅so if I hadn’t called them, probably we wouldn’t have learnt it until it got to the Embassy. Did you register your email with them? The number that you called is for immigration visas. I called 603 334 0888. But it was before they announced suspension of the calls….
  5. Hello! I do not think you need i129f as the embassy should have received it from NVC/USCIS. i134, letter of intent can be scans but maybe it’s better to have originals.
  6. Hello! I do not know where you read or heard about 2 years… so if you continue K1 process You get your K1 visa→fly to America→get married→Apply for adjustment status+work permit And here how it can be: you either get your work permit before you get a green card or you get a green card and work permit together. You can check the timelines for green card process of other members of this community. About work visa sponsored by US company. They might refuse you your work visa application because you already filed for K1 visa. Work visa doesn’t mean immigration intent, but K1 visa does. So for them it’s a red flag. But I don’t know about the timeline for work visa. Also your NOA 1 is April 2021, right now they process cases March 2021 (finishing this group), April 2021 (active processing), so you might get NOA2 very soon.
  7. Thanks everybody for replies just called NVC again and they got my case on May 12 🥳 so yes, it took about 3.5 weeks. Now gonna wait a little bit and try to get the case number (updated our timeline)
  8. Hello! So as i wrote here before it has been over 3 weeks since our NOA2, i called NVC this Wednesday, they said that they have not recieved it yet. I checked other people`s timeline here and the average wait time USCIC→NVC is 2-3 weeks.......I am getting frustrated...... Also intresting point - my notice date on NOA2 paper is Sunday (4/17), but on USCIS website its Monday (4/18)..... Can i call USCIS and ask if they sent my case or ready to send it?
  9. Congrats!!! i just called them today and they said that they do not have our case yet although it’s been a little bit over 3 weeks since NOA2
  10. Hi! In terms of timeline K1 and CR1 are almost the same right now. If we talk about USCIS and NVC processing timelines, it doesn’t matter what country you are from. Many people deciding to cancel K1 and do CR1 instead because with CR1 process you get green card and can work immediately. In terms of immunization- you can get a test to check whether you have antibodies for extra charge.
  11. Hello everyone! As far as I understand when NVC assigns a case number, they inform us via email, correct? Do they have a delay in sending email with a case number? For example, they assigned a case number on Monday and 1) send an email with the case number same day or next day or 2)they send an email with the case number with 3 or more days delay It’s been 3 weeks since NOA2, so I’m wondering whether to call them or wait for email….
