Hello!
I have questions regarding police certificate for K-1 visa.
So I m a Russian living abroad for the past 6 years. I knew that I would need to obtain a police certificate from both Russia and my current residence country. So I went ahead and applied for a police certificate in Russian Consulate around 6 months ago.
1.When I applied for it, they asked in what language do I want it. I asked for English.
They issued it in English without Russian original. So now I m thinking- is it okay? Or American side will still need it in Russian too?
2.As far as I understood the process- Russian Consulate sends an inquiry to Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russia), gets information about criminal records, and then Consulate issues a certificate stating that Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has no criminal record regarding citizen .. etc, then they sign it and put official stamp of the Consulate. So they don t use official stamps or signs of Ministry of Internal Affairs . American side wouldn t have problems with it?
I know that the second question sounds a little but stupid but just would like to hear other people s experience in regard when you get your police certificate via Consulate of your birth country.
