I'm preparing my 4th document submission to NVC and I wonder if other people having similar experiences? NVC keeps mishandling my submitted documents, both financial and civil. For example, they improperly titled one of the the documents and now asking for its re-submission. Also, I attached my most recent W2 form that covers Poverty Guidelines many times over and then they ask for my 1099s. It just feels unreal. Every re-submission takes 2.5 months to review, I have my whole family stuck in Russia because of this. On top of that they no longer have a phone line to call them. Anyone having the similar experience with them? Is it discrimination or just incompetence?

Just thought I would update here if anyone was wondering about a similar situation for Russian citizens since the war started. My MIL had a B visa that was issued almost 3 years ago but never visited due to the pandemic. She finally was able to visit the US last month via Istanbul. At the border, she had absolutely no issues entering on her B visa despite the war/political situation. The border guard asked her only standard questions including "Where is your husband?" to which she replied that he was in Russia. She was admitted shortly after and given a 6 month stay. The border agent did not speak Russian and she was not offered an interpreter so she just responded in the very limited English she knows. Now her tourist visa expires this December so getting a new one will be a challenge. She contacted VFS Global and they are no longer doing renewals inside Russia, that stopped last year. So, most likely going to Warsaw or some other country is the only option. Just wanted to start this thread for others with Russian relatives and their tourist visa experiences.

Stupid question but what is the usual timeframe between NVC accepting all the documents submitted and the visa interview scheduled at the US Embassy?

Hello VJ, I submitted all the documents needed to NVC they accepted all and asked for more I then submitted the extra document and they haven't replied. It's been 45 days and they haven't accepted this final document. They also do answer any of my questions, they just send a generic reply every time. Why is it taking so long to accept this last document? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any experience with sending money from Russia to US? How could one receive inheritance money after the relative passed away in Russia? Are there limits on dollar transactions? Will a third country currency be better choice for transfer?
