My wife is here on an emergency humanitarian parole that is valid for 2 years. Unfortunately, she does not have any other status currently and we need to file immediately for her adjustment of status. We are going to file a fee waiver request (I-912) as we qualify under 2 of the 3 categories due to our emergency situation. If granted, does the fee waiver also cover the civil surgeon exam? Also, will it hurt her AOS request to file the fee waiver request despite indigency not being one of our conditions?

Hello All, My better half and I are planning to get married soon in Cuba so we can finally start the process here for a CR-1 Visa. I am assuming that we just need the original Marriage Certificate and a certified translation to English for the whole Visa process is that correct? No need to register said foreign marriage in the US in civil court or anything? Also another question, does the passport used to get married matter for USCIS or the US in general? The reason I ask is because I am both a US and a Cuban Citizen, she is Russian. She would use her Russian passport as expected, but in my case, I enter Cuba with my Cuban passport (due to Cuban regulations). They (Cuba) don't care (as far as I know) which passport I use, but it may make the process more seamless and speedier if I marry with my Cuban passport instead of the US one. Now since I am a US Citizen, does USCIS need my marriage to be done with my US Passport? I cannot find any language regarding that requirement anywhere. Thanks in advance, please feel free to ask if you need more clarifications.

Hello, I have been in tears all day. Please help. Our lawyer is saying one thing, but we aren't sure if we can trust her. The brief story is that I didn't file taxes last year because I was living abroad with my husband, and I had a cosponser, but he ended up bailing on me last minute; I returned to the USA as soon as my sponsor bailed and got a job as a preschool teacher over the summer. I submitted an exemption for why I didn't file 2022 taxes and all my pay stubs from my teaching job. Teaching job paid 34k/year This is the message we got from NVC: Quote The income reported as stated on form I-864, I-864A is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inadmissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos and https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. A consular officer will decide if you meet these requirements at the time of the interview. Note: You, as the sponsor, and any other sponsors household members and joint sponsors, must provide updated or additional evidence for the applicant to present at the time of their interview such as: * Other income * Assets * Proof of current employment Note: You submitted documentation to the National Visa Center through the Consular Electronic Application Center CEAC. You can continue to upload documents to CEAC up until the date of your visa interview. The good news is that I just started a nursing job last week with great pay. Our lawyer advised that I submit two paystubs from my nursing job and an employment verification letter. Again, I just started this nursing job. My question is....will this work? It is saying above that I need a joint sponsor...but I have no family. I am all alone here with no one else to ask I don't know what to do I am feeling so depressed because of all this. Any advice would mean the world to me right now. Thank you

Immediately after our interview in July we were refused on 221g grounds, and they asked us for additional military records (proof of no service) and CV (curriculum vitae) We mailed those, they received them, and they updated our 221g refusal but did not list any categories. (Basically we received a new refusal paper but no categories of information listed.) Now I know a refusal isn't a denial, but... I was browsing visajourney and some people from other countries say it's a way to deny you softly as your k-1 and medical will expire, and our medical will expire in November. Can anyone tell us if it's bleak or hopeless because I am feeling the stress...
