My NOA2 expires in February(one year mark). It doesn't seem like the Philippines embassy will be opening for quite some time for processing K-1 visa's. Messages to the US embassy just get automated responses. Is there a way that I can ask for an extension past the one year mark?

I have tried asking this simple question before and only 2 people replied but they gave me the run around about joining some kind of thread. So I want to attempt this simple question again and hopefully get a yes or no answer if that s not too much to ask. Can I email or even call the national visa center and ask them for my case number for my k1 visa petition? Again this is a simple yes or no question. The nvc website claims that they can t answer emails regarding the status of k1 visas right now but I don t know if that s true or not. But they did say you could call them. I would prefer to email but I can call. So can anyone just simply answer this question with a yes or no?

I haven't heard from USCIS since I got the NOA1. Still no biometrics schedule nor RFE for I-944. Is it possible to request for EAD expedite if I got a job offer?

Hi, I live alone. I have broken my ankle and I really need help at home do you think that they would approve an expedite on these grounds?

Enterin on expired Philippine passport but with 10 year green card.

Good Morning all.

I have a question regarding my wife's re-entry into the USA. She is from the Philippines and has her 10 year permanent green card.

She had to make an emergency trip back to Bohol Philippines due to her mom's illness. Sadly, by the time she finished quarantines, her mom had passed away. My wife couldn't even go to the funeral service for her.

Anyway, my wife's passport is about to expire on Dec. 11th. Her intent was to renew it while she was there in Manila, Cebu, or Dumageute. All of these are subject to strict quarantine procedures as expected. At this point, most appointments are 30+ days away. Ergo, it's unlikely she will be able to renew there and may have to apply for a new passport all-together.

She has been there almost 2 weeks and hasn't even been home yet due to the quarantines required there. Anyway, we were wondering if it's possible for her to reenter the USA on just her green card. Would they let her in with an expired passport (which she would renew as soon as possible here of course)? I can't find any information regarding this on the USCIS web site and there doesn't seem to be a place on that site to ask questions about it.

Also, would the Philippines give her a hard time boarding her flight back here? I know how they can be at times.

Bottom line: she would like to renew or apply for a passport there of course, but time-wise this may not be practical for her, as she needs to keep her job here. If she can enter on just her green card, and the Philippines allows her to board, she might be OK. But we just need to know for sure. I hope someone can help us out definitively and properly so that she can come home. I can't rely on hearsay and need facts. I'll continue looking it up on the USCIS web site too of course.

We will still try to get her renewed (or new) passport here if it is at all possible. but with quarantines in Bohol, it's hard as hell to deal with it and very time consuming. She has yet to get home and settle her mom's estate. That alone will take weeks I's sure.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated as always.

Thank You

Doug Vensel
