We laugh about it now but it was a real PITA at the time, 2015. A good friend of mine here in Cebu had to leave for the US and after a while it became apparent he wouldn't be returning so he applied for his wife and her daughter to join him there in Ohio. It's too bad he couldn't apply DCF before he left because some of those were running under 2 months at the time. But there wasn't time so he applied in the US and they waited and waited like we're doing now. It ended up going around 2 years before she finally got the interview in Manila and they flew over. After checking some of the paperwork from USCIS, somewhere in the process, the place of birth for the daughter had changed from Cebu to Cuba. Hahahahaha Could explain why it took so long.

Hi! I just had my oath taking for naturalization last March 10. Is it possible to update my status at the SSA online, or it does it have to be done in person?

Hi! My case has been Documentarily Qualified (DQ) last March 2020 and was approved expedited in April 2020 before PP 10014. Ever since, my visa status has been marked as "READY". Then today, I requested for an expedited interview appointment at the US Embassy Manila, then when I checked this afternoon, it changed into "REFUSED" when I haven't received any interview schedule yet or haven't been interviewed yet. What does this mean?

My wife and I were married in December, 2018. She is now a LPR (conditional) She now wants to bring her son to the US. He is unmarried and under age 21. Does anyone know the approximate processing time for the I-130 that we will submit? The "Timelines" page looks as if that information is only about IR1/CR1 and K-3 Visas? Will her conditional status impact the I-130? In other words, can those with a conditional status even be approved to have a child come to the US, or must one first be an LPR without conditions. We will be applying for that change in the fall since her 2 year green card expires in December, 2021. She has created an online USCIS account. They want to verify her identity and have asked for her DOS Case ID. We cannot find this. We do have something that looks correct, but the online form says it is not correct. Where can this be found? Will we need to contact USCIS?
