Global Entry timetable for wife and stepdaughter.

Just updating since some others still have pending Global Entry applications. My wife filed for Global Entry way back in February. Shortly after physically receiving her 2-year Green Card (also delayed). The application languished with CBP for 194 days (6 1/2 months) and was finally Conditionally Approved at the end of August.

AFTER my wife was already Conditionally Approved, I applied for my stepdaughter. I waited since I wasn't sure if my wife s previous misadventure with Mexican Immigration (not her fault even slightly) would be an issue. Only the first $100 is covered by credit card perks. Stepdaughter was Conditionally Approved in 2 days.

After they were both Conditionally Approved, I started fishing for interview dates here at San Diego Otay Mesa Enrollment Center. I discovered interview dates are only consistently available like "a year from now" however, every day they release multiple interviews at random like "today, tomorrow or in the immediate future" but they get booked literally in seconds. If you find one get it while it's hot and don t hesitate long enough to consider it.

After clicking refresh probably several hundred times and getting lucky I first scheduled my stepdaughter to last week thinking that surely since her also Conditionally Approved mother would have to attend the same interview with her, maybe they could do both at the same time. No luck. Stepdaughter got final approval, mom asked to come back again later.

Click refresh a few hundred more times and we got mom an interview. Both interviews were super easy and both are finally approved.

So, mom took a total of 194 days to Conditional Approval. 23 days to interview. 217 days total.
Stepdaughter took a total of 2 days to Conditional Approval. 17 days to interview. 19 days total.

Do IR2 immigrants automatically get sent a social security card?

Hello,

On the DS-260 form, I answered yes to the question about assigning an SSN and sending a SS card. We did not pay the USCIS immigrant fee because both parents are U.S. citizens and we were advised that it would be unnecessary for them to get a greencard since they de-facto get citizenship automatically - per USCIS: "Children with IR-2 visas that are: under 18 years old automatically acquire U.S. citizenship after admission to the United States if they reside in the United States with their parents."

So, we were wondering if the social security cards will come in the mail automatically. The IR2 immigrant children arrived five days ago.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

According to the USCIS,

Children with IR-2 visas that are: under 18 years old automatically acquire U.S. citizenship after admission to the United States if they reside in the United States with their parents.

They arrived to the U.S. a few days ago. My wife and I are both U.S. citizens. We all went to the SSA, but they were unable to issue them social security cards. They said we would need some kind of further evidence. This is important for us because they have just received health insurance (temporarily approved), but we need to submit proof of citizenship and SSNs within three months.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I had my interview this morning and it went smooth. The consul said my visa is approved and it will be delivered in 1-2weeks. But when I checked on CEAC Tracker, the status is refused. Who else has experience like this? I'm anxious right now and until the status change to Issued
