Validate my thinking here: renew GC vs apply for citizenship

This is a question about timing. My wife's first GC expires in May.

We have a wedding to attend in Bali in July.

I'm thinking we should renew the GC rather than go for citizenship at this time. Would you agree?

Try to submit docs to NVC before end of year or wait?

Hi all, just another question to clarify what I should do. Right now I need to pay the fees for my DS-260 and AOS and then submit them to NVC. My question is, should I rush and try to get all the docs together before the end of the year and submit it before the new year? I'm asking because I don't know if there are any changes coming down the line for immigration in 2023 that could hurt me if I wait. Or does it matter? Thank you!

Friend needs help

Ok I will try and lay all the info I know.

Friend is a USC and his wife is an Australian citizen.

He is a war time veteran.

Her and her 3 children came to this country about 3+ years ago on a visitors visa which was good for 3 months and never left.

He has legally adopted all 3 children. As far as the courts are concerned he is now considered their biological father and he is getting BC's from the state. Does that automatically make them USC?

She read somewhere that because he is a war time veteran she cannot be deported but was unable to confirm. Anyone know if there is truth to this?

She obviously doesn't have a green card and isn't supposed to be working in this country. Do they need to go through the normal IR1 process for her to become legal? Will there be issues? I know that she won't go back to Australia to wait for this to process, how will that play out?

As soon as he has the BC's from the state he will get them SSN numbers. Does he need to do anything with the kids?

This is a very weird case and I'm not 100% on where he should go from here. Thanks for any help.

question about I-751 delivery with UPS

Hi all,

I am from New York. I sent my I-751 package with UPS to:

USCIS

Attn: I-751 (Box 4072)

2500 Westfield Drive

Elgin, IL 60124-7836

I did not address it to USCIS Elgin Lockbox, only USCIS. I just now noticed my error when giving UPS the address. I received a UPS delivery notifcation today that states in the Proof of Delivery that it was "Received by Mohamed" and it was "Left At Front Desk". Did my I-751 arrive successfully at the correct place? I'm unsure if Lockbox means the courier will just drop it off without a signature confirmation. I won't know till the check is deposited or if it's left languishing in the incorrect place? Thank you all.

I was bored so I checked several case numbers in case status website and this is what I found out.

For case number wac22900xx340 is assigned for I-129F. But wac22900xx352 is assigned for I-539. and wac22900xx353 is for I-765? You see the case numbers are sequential but its not for I-129F case only . So this wac case number is for across the board. Its not exclusive to I-129F.

Also wac22900xx343 is an approved I-129F but not the wac22900xx340...#######!!!! its just said case received, not even rfe.

FYI! the above xx is same numbers on all of my examples. I did not want to include them for privacy.

I would like to ask the experts. wac22900xxxxx is now being process as we speak. is this a good news for us who filed this year? my case number is april 2022.
