US Immigration from Netherlands

Hello!

We are currently waiting for our interview date at the US Embassy in Amsterdam. Our case was completed at the NVC on March 30th. On April 10th we got an email saying our request to expedite was approved (even though we did not request it) and that the embassy would be contacting us soon with the interview date.

Our status has been on "ready" since April 12th, but we still haven't heard anything from the embassy. Last week we got an email from the NVC saying our interview had been cancelled, though we didn't have an interview scheduled. I read from others on here that that's an automated email sent out when your case is expedited, so the embassy can schedule their own interview and cancel any interviews the NVC may have scheduled.

Should we contact the embassy? Or wait a while longer? I've heard some consulates require the applicant to schedule the interview for expedited cases, but I'm not sure how it works at Amsterdam.

Hi, I've received on April 9 this email from the Consulate:

We have finished with our administrative processing of your visa application.

Would you please send your passport to us as soon as possible?

Thank you.

I've sent them my passport the next day. The status on the NVC site is "Issued". I tried to write to them, no reply.

Today is the 12th day that I am without my passport. How long does it take to put a visa on my passport?

Can a Consulate retain someone's password so long? Is this even legal?

Thank you for reading my question.

I'm applying for CR1 spousal US Green Card and am currently in NVC processing.

I'm curious until where in the process I can still get into the US on an ESTA.

This is because in my situation, it makes more sense for me to officially still live in the Netherlands for a few months while I'm on holiday in the US.

I would travel to the US again within 6 months of approval in order to be in time to get my Green Card.

To break it down, can I still travel on an ESTA:

- when NVC approves application and schedules consulate interview?

- after I had the consulate interview?

- after I have had notice of CR1 approval after the interview?

- after I have received my passport back from the consulate with the visa in there?

- or if there's another point where it's not possible anymore to travel on an an ESTA

Hi,

I've sent my passport to the Consulate because I was instructed to do so. My visa is ready and they need to stick it to my passport.

I've sent it April 10. I wrote an email to them (you know... to check if they received my passport) but no reply. Passport should have arrived April 13.

On the site https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx I can read:

I suppose that something happened on April 15. The description of the status is still the same since mid-February, only che "Case Last Updated" field has been updated.

Any idea of what this means?

Does anyone has any idea how long the wait is before an interview will be scheduled. I am a greencard holder and filed for a visa application for my husband 3 1/2 years ago. His case has been classified as documetarily complete: qualified since December 2019. Waiting for a visa interview at the us consulate in Amsterdam .
