US Immigration from Italy

Hello all!

I married my Italian wife who I met in France at university here in my hometown of Philadelphia in August 2022. Shortly after, I petitioned for the I 130 visa for her. A few questions -

My job is constantly having me travel so our decision to get married here was kind of last minute. My wife is Italian and not here on any sort of visa, besides ESTA. We filed our application and according to the USCIS site, our wait time is four months (but seeing most people's posts, it probably will be longer). We filed online, but on the bottom of our receipt, it says that the Potomac center is handling our application. My wife is currently here studying online at her university in France, but she would like to begin working here as it is much more relaxed than in France. Soon, it will be three months that she has been here, and we are wondering if we should go back to France/Italy for a bit to not get in trouble...

Is there any way that she can work while waiting for an answer from the I 130? She got a job offer but has no work authorization.

Can she go back home and visit her family, and then come back without any issue? Or, can we travel to Europe and come back sans problems?

Do any other applications need to be filed? We have added all birth certificates, pictures of us, 2x4 pictures, our marriage license, background checks, our lease, her phone bill, and pretty much anything else pertinent to supported documents.

Perhaps it is important to add that I myself, an American, hold a visa in France and can travel freely there and back and stay without problems for a few years still.

So our status showed ready on November 10, 2022 but we have not yet received our packet. How long does it usually take? Many have said to schedule our own appointment but while we were in the process, the message clearly states NOT to schedule until instructed by the Consulate, otherwise our appointment will be canceled on the day of. We've emailed Naples Embassy and even called the office but still nothing. Most of the people I've reached out to who have had interviews at Naples said that their interview was scheduled for them.

Our petition will expire December 15 which I think is nothing to worry about since everyone is behind.

Just curious, anyone scheduled their own interview before receiving their packet? Did you get this message?

Naples Embassy received our Petition today! Status is "Ready". My understanding is that the Embassy will email us packet 3 and schedule our interview... Im so excited. 510 days today and we are approaching the finish line.

What a journey!

So the instructions for the I-134 form say to provide a Statement from the bank with "Total amount deposited for the past year". I just left my bank and they can only provide monthly statements. How should I handle this?

Hello,

After having my I-751 approved, I was sent the 10 years green card to my mail address but I have never received it. I reached out to USPS and they admitted they lost it. So frustrating!!!

After a month or so, I changed my last name for few reasons so I ll need to update my new Green Card.

I know I need to file I-90 to replace my Green Card, but what reason should I enter? Card was lost or destroyed? Or legal name was changed? They both apply!! And will the fee be waived since the GC was lost? I m not sure what to do.
