First let me explain our situation. I am my wifes sponser through K1.

We married in November 2019 in court but didnt have a party till December 2020. When my wife came over to the usa we lived in florida, then we moved to texas in the beginning of this year. I only have one lease that has her name on it but its handwritten on the lease as it was a private house not an apartment. We dont have a house in texas yet, been living in airbnb, waiting on our house to close, unfortunately since it was a new build it doesnt have both our names on it, just mine but the eventual title will have both our names but we close after the interview...We both have seperate bank accounts and I dont have utilities with her name on them. I fear I may be missing joint evidence.

WHAT I AM BRINGING:

Main documents:

Me (Husband Sponser)-

-Original and copy of Birth certificate for myself.

-Original and copy of my Us citizen naturalization certificate.

-Original and copy of my drivers license.

-Original and copy of my global access id.

-Original and copy of my current passport with travel stamps to Indonesia.

-Original of my previous passport with travel stamps to Indonesia, just bringing copy of the stamps.

-Original and copy of my social security.

-Affadavit of support.

-2 months of paystubs.

-Tax file 2018,2019,2020. 2019 and 2020 were filled as married jointly.

-Tax transcript 2018,2019,2020.

-W2 2018,2019,2020

-Letter from employer saying i work there full time, my salary, and start date back in march 2018.

-Bank statements.

-401k statements

Her(Wife, aos applicant)

-Original and copy of her birth certificate.

Certified translation copy of her birth certificate. (This was requested in a RFE even though original is bilingual)

-Original and copy of her passport, visa and travel stamp to usa.

-I 94 copy.

-Original and copy of her social security card.

-Original and copy of her EAD card.

-Original and copy of her state Id(unfortunately this expired January because we couldnt renew it in time while moving out of florida)

-Her vaccination copy Ds2054, one copy from me and original copy from jakarta. The real original was taken by immigration in the sealed packet on arrival.

-Original and copies of all notices received from USCIS, including interview notice, advance parole, EAD, I485 processing, and K1. Unfortunately the only original I dont have is the RFE as they requested it be sent back with the additional required birth certificate translation.

-Bank statements showing i regularly give her money which she uses to pay her credit card.

EVIDENCE:

-Selected pictures from the beginning of our relationship, from going to bali, bandung and kalimantan when I used to visit her, and pictures in orlando and texas in the usa, also pictures of our late wedding party in december 2020 in nj.(married officially November 2019)

-Marriage certificate certified and its copy, they look almost identical. Florida literally just copies the original.

-Receipt from court for marriage payment, has our names on it.

- Insurance benefit outline page from work that lists both our names for 2019, 2020, 2021.

- Insurance card copies for each of us, both has our names.

-Screenshot confirming my wife is my beneficiary in my 401k

-Screenshot and email confirming that my wife is the beneficiary of my life insurance.

-Boarding passes of us both coming from Indonesia together.

-Boarding pass of one of our trips to visit my parents in NJ.

- Itiniary of our flight trips in the usa including december when we had our wedding party.

-Itiniary from work when I made a trip to texas for housing hunting from florida with both our names.

-Airbnb receipts with both our names.

-Verizon phone bills, her phone number has her nickname(printed that page) but in the statements all the numbers including my sister are just named as under me, so idk if these will be helpful.

OTHER:

-K1 COPY with all pages sent to uscis.

-I 485 copy with all pages sent to uscis.

-Old florida leases, with her before marriage name written as a person occupying the property with me.

-Our new house contract, unfortunately only has my name, signature and the companies signature. We had thought we would close before the interview and show those documents but that didnt happen.

Do you guys think I have enough items to prove our marriage? Please help we are getting nervous interview is Thursday..

How do I explain this to the officer? Basically we got married in court in nov 2019 but didnt have time to do a party/ceremony with family since we lived in florida and most of my family lives in nj and nyc. And then covid hit a month or 2 later and we couldnt do anything, eventually had a small party in December 2020 in nj. Our marriage certificate is from florida.

How do I explain this to the officer in a way to not trigger any issues? Is doing the party later ok with the k1 visa or that looks like fraud?

My beneficiary had an interview at the Embassy in Jakarta on February 11th, 2021. In the process of reviewing his application, they iformed him his Medical record was now too old, (because the Embassy was closed for so many months because of the pandemic. In any case, he had paid the Visa Fee as instructed and has his receipt from the bank. So he left and went through the medical and the hospital has submitted the new report to the embassy. The problem is that he tried to reschedule a new interview - once as a new interview and a different time as a follow up interview - on both instances the online tool request to enter the receipt number of the Visa Payment and it says it cannot recognize the number but the visa fee is paid and without entering a good number on this field it will not take you to the next page to find available times. HELP. what to do? Thanks

N-400 Interview & Email Notice Questions
5:12 pm April 13, 2021

J/G

Hello All,

Filed my N400 on Sept 2020 (Marriage Based; 3 years rule, Pending I751 since Sept. 2019). I received an email Apr 12, 2021 stating that "On April 12, 2021, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization" and that a paper notice will be mailed to me. I'm so excited. Here are my questions:

  • Today, April 13, 2021 at 4am, I received an email from no-reply(at)uscis(dot)dhs(dot)gov stating that, "We have taken an action on your case and it needs your attention. Sign in to your account to view your case status and additional steps you need to take," when I logged in to my USCIS and DHS USCIS accounts I don't see anything changed from yesterday. Even as current as I type this post, I do not see anything changed on my status. My I-751 have been on "Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction" per 12 October 2020; my N-400 is "Interview Was Scheduled" per 12 April 2021. Was this a glitch in the system? or the email I received on the 13 April was referring to the status change to Interview has been scheduled notice I received on 12 April? I was afraid that this was an RFE notice, but nothing seems to change on my accounts. Any thoughts?

  • A user, name @Gingerspike recently had a N-400 interview with a pending I-751 in Los Angeles office see the post below. I'm also in the same boat, N400 interview with pending I751. She attended the interview with her husband, but the husband was not required to attend and was told to wait in the building Lobby. My husband is currently recovering from a health issue and is on a wheelchair. Initially we were planning to attend the interview together but if he's just there to wait in the lobby I feel bad for him. Would it be an absolute requirement for him to be present with me or can he stay home while I attend my interview? Who should I contact to give me the most reliable advise on this?
  • When I attend my interview should I bring everything I submitted for my I751 or only things that are listed in my interview notice for N400, which I have yet to receive in the mail? Any advise? Should I mention to my IO that I have a pending I751?

  • I read that some people was able to do N400 interview, oath ceremony, register to vote and US passport in the same day. Would I be able to do this in Los Angeles office? If so how do I proceed? Or did I misread this information?

THANK YOU in advance for your advice and thoughts.

Best,

J/G
