Hi all! My IR1 visa was approved and issued, YAY! So happy and thankful for all of you guys on VJ. - What are the next steps to get my SSN? - Do I need to apply for it or will I automatically get it with the GC? I read something about applying for it within 90 days, is this correct? - And then do I file I-485 / Form S-5? I plan on working as soon as I can, I know I can with the VISA but I think some employers prefer the SSN? Will the GC be mailed to my US address ( I did check that on the DS-260) and what do I do if it doesn't come? How long should I expect to wait? I tried to find the answers on here but struggled because some were for K1 visas and I think the process is different, but not sure. Anyways, thanks in advance.

Hi, i have a boyfriend from America, Im from Indonesia. We have a plan to get married after 1 year dating. I really wanna have a baby as soon as possible bcoz thats my dream. My boyfriend after we got married doesnt wanna stay here in Indonesia. He wants me to move there. So, after I got married here, can I just get pregnant before i get the citizenship greencard? is it permitted? And how is the law for me and my future baby in America? And do u think i should get married in my country first or in America?

Hello everyone hope you are doing really well so far. I would like to ask, if I already got K1 visa, can I marry with US citizen in my country first (marry at church without any judges) before I go to the US? Or I still need to marry with him in the USA? Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Best, Gabby

I was a US green-card holder years ago, then abandoned it (the USCIS approved my I-407 - Record on Abandonment Lawful Permanent Resident Status) . I now have a B1/B2 visa, and my (US citizen) spouse is filing an I-130. In the Beneficiary Info section, it asks whether I was EVER in immigration proceedings. I assume I need to say Yes due to my previous I-130? If I select Yes however, we're not sure what to do with the next set of questions. I never had a "proceeding" - I summited a form by mail to abandon my previous green card (as explained above) . How do we handle this on the I-130 ? Thank you in advance before Mel
