We are in the final stages of the visa application, interview set for August. I expect my parents - 77 and 82 - would arrive sometime at the end of the year. If i have to i can start health insurance in October when application time opens. My issue is finding insurance options that is not prohibitively expensive. I went to the MarketPlace, which redirected me to Pennie - (Pennsylvania's marketplace) and once i filled in their information I was told they are not eligible because they are over 65, I should go to Medicare. I talked to Medicare and they said they would not be eligible because they have not spent 5 years here and that I could purchase coverage for them only if I purchase a plan for myself and add them to it. That is paying for 3 people and i already have insurance through my employer. I expect that would be extremely expensive. So it seems i am going in circles. I also wanted to see if anyone has experience with getting insurance through VisitorsCoverage and whether it is reliable. If it is yes which plan is the most recommended especially if it becomes long term.

Hello, I need help on what to do next on this. We are in the final stages of the green card process, and my elderly parents just went to get their new passport. In order to get a passport they needed to provide fingerprints. They could not take a fingerprint from my father, they said his fingertips are too smooth with no ridges. He received the passport for only 1 year. Which is a problem by itself, but the biggest issue is that I think this is definitely going to be an issue when either getting the visa or when trying to enter the United States where fingerprinting is a must. What do i do next to make sure there are no roadblocks for them to get the visa or to travel into the US?

I just applied to work at a local bank and they just told me that they will do some background checks: I-9. I was so excited because everything looks good but I just started thinking - Can I work at a bank with a green card? I just filed my I-751. Actually what kind of jobs allowed and not allowed as a permanent resident?

I just filed the 751 about a month ago and we are thinking about moving to another state. How difficult is this to do during this process? At first we wanted to wait until the permanent green card arrives but I lost my job and we are thinking might as well look for a job where we were planning to move next year. Thanks for your opinion.

My wife overstayed a tourist visa for roughly 500 days. She was a student on a F-1 visa when we met and got married - after she finished school, we briefly left the country to visit her family, and then she returned on a tourist visa. At this time, we had planned on moving to Europe (she is an EU citizen), and we were only returning to prepare for the move. It was then we found out about our first baby, and my wife was diagnosed with a high-risk pregnancy (I have these documents). So, we decided to stay and submitted theI-485 (the I-130 has already been approved by this point). After several months of processing, the form was returned to us because USCIS wanted a newer form version (we had to wait several months before submitting to save the money, but I had already filled out the form and had it ready to go). I don't have any documentation of this. By that time, I had a job offer abroad, so we made plans to move and left about three months after. It was then that we found out about the ten-year period of inadmissibility, which of course we are very regretful. So, our current situation is we live in the UAE - we are ready to file the AOS and the IV, but of course we realize that in the visa interview she will be found inadmissible. We have two small children - my wife is from Hungary, and I don't speak Hungarian (I am not sure if I could earn a sufficient living there). I know the I-601 is really hard to get approved (especially without a lawyer), but my hope is someone may be able to provide me with an informal opinion or some additional information. At this point, I'm wondering it it's even worth trying. Thanks so much for reading!
