Return of the Naturalization Certificate by the Passport Agency |

Hello fellow VJ-ers, What has been your experience re. the return of your Naturalization Certificate after applying for a passport? - does the Passport Acceptance Facility staple it to the application and all the other application support documents? - does the Passport Agency return the original Certificate in a full Letter envelope or do they fold it in two? I am asking because my experience for applying for my younger son's passport, his original Birth Certificate was returned folded in a half-Letter size envelope. Once I am naturalized (hopefully at the end of the month), I am wondering if I can provide a prepaid self-addressed FedEx envelope along with a rigid document holder for the return of the Certificate. Has anyone tried? Is it even possible (maybe not at a USPS Acceptance Facility, but a a regular Passport Agency)? Thanks for your feedback. VinnyH

Dear all: I would just like to confirm with you that aside from what is written on the Form N-445, I don't need to bring with me all the stack of justificative documents I brought for my interview (although they never asked me, I had them ready on hand and also uploaded them), such as the Tax Return Transcripts, Birth Certificates of my children, my current and previous (foreign) passport(s) etc... That part is behind me, right? So I assume I can leave all those docs at home. I would prefer to come to the ceremony "light" rather than my 5lbs / 7in thick dossier with me... Thanks for your feedback! VinnyH

Hi, I just got my K1 visa but the nightmare starts... it's written CWOP on it; I don't understand at all the officer during the Interview approved it. On NVC it's written. "Issued". I got a letter with my passport, "After reviewing your case, this office finds that your visa requires additional processing. We will inform you by email or phone w'ere ready to print your visa". I am all in tears I want to be with my fianc e Does anyone know why this kind of thing happen? My fianc e emailed them but we are waiting on a reply. Thank you

Hi all, Ok I am probably over-thinking this, but, for those who have applied for their new passport after being naturalized, the documents you had to provide were your certificate of naturalization and ONE photo ID right? (bringing the original + one copy) This is my understanding from the checklist from the travel.state.gov website but I thought I read somewhere recently (and I can't find the source anymore but thought it was another official website) that you needed to present more than one photo ID....? I currently only have my foreign passport and green card as IDs , I of course won't have my green card at the time of the passport application, meaning the only photo ID I will have is my foreign passport. I know there are non-driver IDs you can get at the DMV (thing I ignored until a few days ago) but everything is so delayed with COVID....Anyways, for those who have been there recently, would love to hear from you, I trust that the info I am ready on the travel.state.gov website is the one to follow but I would rather find myself with way more evidences than needed rather than not enough

Hi everyone, Our docs were accepted in October 2020. In February we still hadn t gotten any news so I called NVC. They had me remove a doc that had been refused and put a note in our file requesting a review which was supposed to take 6 weeks. I called again the 2nd week of April since we still hadn t gotten any news and again this morning. Both times the agent said everything looked good on her end and there was nothing further for us to do. She said she didn t know why our case hadn t been sent to the embassy and put a note in requesting review. It has now been 7 months since our docs were accepted and there doesn t seem to be an end in sight to our waiting. Has anyone else their case get stuck between NVC accepting the docs and getting an interview date? The agent said something about communication problems between the different systems but that seems odd... Any advice?
