Visitors Visa for Minor

I am an Americana citizen living in Colombia at the moment. My wife is going through the CR1/IR1 visa.

We are anticipating arriving in USA around December time frame.

My wife's niece, Age 8, would like to come. I am thinking about filing a visitors visa for her. I am the only one who can fill out the forum since the parents cannot understand English.

I would also be the one support the girl when she gets into the USA by providing lodging and food. Reason for visit is that I want to take both of them to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

She will have strong ties to Colombia to return back. She will have her parents and school to return to.

I understand that if the girl was to get approved that my wife would need consent from the parents through a notary for her to leave the country.

I also understand that the girl might not need an interview being that she is under 13 years old.

My question is what would be the odds of her obtaining the Visitor's visa at the age of 8 when her Aunt and Uncle will be applying and supporting the trip?

Thank you for answers in advance.

Hello. My fiance from Colombia lived two years in Argentina when he was younger. We were able to pull the Police Clearance form from the Argentina embassy in Bogota. Does anyone have an example of the Argentina Police Clearance? I know it has to include art. 51 exception. But if anyone has an example of it, it would be very helpful. This is the one they gave us. It includes a fingerprint as well. Just want to make sure it's the right form. Thank you!

Can She Visit?

I just learned this morning that K1 visas take about a year to process and the same timeline is for petitioning a family member.

We haven t decided if we want to get married in her home country or in the United States.

I m a U.S. citizen she is from Colombia.

We want to visit my family this summer or fall but the wait times seem to make it impossible.

When can she visit? We must wait until the K1 interview? If she can visit while the application is filed does she receive some type of document to show the immigration officer after landing in the United States?

As far as actually getting married we were thinking this November but the K1 could push that back. It s amazing how we have to plan our lives around the immigration laws of the United States.

I just want her to meet my family in person.

I put down the date of birth and date of marriage correctly. I got an error message that said the date of marriage has to be later than the date of birth. All my dates are correct.

Any ideas why I continue to get this message? thanks

DS-260 "Application Error" [split topic]

I am getting "application error " and can not proceed. I am trying to fill form 260. I live in Colombia with my wife. Approved for a visa after 18 months or so. Now I am battling the form 260. I am at the address page. My wife has 6 addresses in the past. After I completed 2 addresses I get the application error. I have tried different browsers and all the other stuff people have said to do. I have been trying for over a week. Today I got the application error right away . It wouldn't let me fill out any. A few minutes later I was able to fill out 2 of the addresses. That is it.

I wish I could mail all the docs in. But USCIS has a warning that they might lose them if you do. What a horrible federal agency. With the VA and SS you can talk to agents by phone. Maybe I should just omit the next 4 addresses.

Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks jo12208
