I live in China with my Chinese wife and we are looking to move back to the US this year - the original plan was to do DCF, etc. in what has been a fairly quick few months from application to interview schedule for my friends. But seems we cannot submit the I-130 in Beijing any longer (as I was told by USCIS office there by email this week), so I assume we should apply on-line or paper to the USCIS but then set for Consular processing in Bejing, and still get quick processing, i.e. not 12+ months common in the USA. But if this will drag on for many months or longer, we can of course move to the US as my wife has a B1/B2 and to AOS there easily, but seems that's less desirable due to the need to ensure she's not entering on the B1/B2 intending to stay permanently, i.e. she probably should return to China and go back & forth before or perhaps even during processing (as we have businesses & things in China to deal with anyway). It's unclear the best strategy (made worse by COVID travel limits), with options: 1) DCF for Beijing via USCIS and hope it's fast, wait in China 2) Move to US this summer with her on B1/B2 and do AOS, perhaps with quarterly China travel to manage affairs 3) Leave her in China as son & I move to US this summer; somehow apply from there or wait out DCF process, with me returning to China for interview 4) Wait in China longer for non-DCF or slow process, which might push us into next year, missing US school year, etc. Thanks!

Hi - I'm American and live with my Chinese wife in China - we've been married for 10 years, hopefully moving to USA this year but for evidence we really only have: * Marriage Cert from 2010 * Child birth CRBA from 2012 In China, we own no property and it's uncommon/hard to have joint lease or bank accounts, so we have little evidence of that despite living together more than 10 years. But given the 10 years of marriage and a child, do we really need more, i.e. do I need to get affidavits or find ways to show we've been sharing rent or school costs, etc.? We may have a Chinese Hukou that shows us married, too, but that's similar to a marriage certificate and perhaps not that useful. Thanks!

Not sure if those was posted, but the backlog at NVC is absolutely staggering. The article in the link below was published less than two weeks ago: "The number of immigrant visa cases pending interviews at the National Visa Center (NVC) increased to 473,000 in February, from 75,000 in January 2020." This also doesn't include cases waiting to be interviewed or incomplete cases: that this number doesn t include the entirety of that queue. It doesn t include cases already at embassies and consulates that have not yet been interviewed or applicants still gathering the necessary documents before they can be interviewed, and also, of course, petitions awaiting USCIS approval. https://www.boundless.com/blog/overseas-green-card-backlog-surges/

Hello, I am the petitioner and we have filed our I129f back in July 2019. We were recently contacted by the Consulate in China with an e-mail and a scheduled interview date. In our case, we did not do the scheduling interview date. The consulate did. The e-mail told us to register online at ustraveldocs.com under "Immigrant Visa - Scheduled by NVC registration only". When we do so, we get to the end and reach the transaction is complete page (seen attached). However, there is no continue forward to payment. There is no payment page available. Has anyone else ever had this situation or can advice on how to proceed further? Thank you.
