Unemployed, living abroad. Need help with I-864.

We will have a joint sponsor if necessary!

How do we fill out I-864 if sponsor is unemployed and spouse (beneficiary) makes income that will not continue once we move to the US? We are living in Canada and have already submitted I-130.

1. Are spouses' assets able to be used if they are the beneficiary?

2. We already have a joint sponsor set up, but when looking at the form, I am confused about Part 7 specifically. Do I enter the joint sponsors information in Part 6 and then skip Part 7 (Use of assets to supplement)? Part 7 says if your income or total household income meets requirement, then skip this part. I am unable to use my household income though, correct? Based on the requirements for I-864A, we can't use his income due to the fact that it won't continue once he gains PR status.

3. In this scenario, is the joint sponsors' income considered my household income for Part 6 and I just skip Part 7 because it's not applicable?

If I can use the household income (Canadian income from beneficiary), then I wouldn't need a joint sponsor.

Better to provide lots of evidence up front for N-400? [merged threads]

In N-400, Part 6, it states, "For the residence and relationship columns, you must type or print one of the valid options listed. If any of your children do not reside with you, provide the address(es) where those children live in Part 14"

I am divorced from my ex-spouse and the three children live with us 50-50. How does one answer this question with this circumstance? Are they required to fill out Part 14 with the ex-spouse's address as well then?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone recently imported your vehicle at the border after CR1/IR1 approval?

I am a U.S. citizen but lived in Canada for 11 years and moved back to U.S. recently. A few weeks ago I went to a port of entry in the states to import my Canadian car. They stated I had to use an importer now and will need to pay an extra 25% tariff. So I guess I ll drive my car back to Canada and sell it.

I m curious though when my Canadian husband gets his green card approval soon will he need to pay the tariff on his vehicle also? Or will it be duty/tariff free doing it at time of your first border crossing?

hello everyone,
recent NOA2 approved beneficiary.
i am currently trying to figure out if its even worth going through my NEXUS interview US side.
( can only do it when i go through the states)
which i haven't been able to visit the states since I've been in school.
probably the only time i can is when i actually immigrate to the states with my K1 Visa.
is it even worth it? i paid 120$...
or should i just do it with 2 separate interviews that day at the airport (NEXUS and K1)

kindly appreciate some feedback.
i also posted on reddit.

I came on a fiance visa June 2019 and was married on July 27, 2019. My husband passed Sept 28, 2021. I filed for ROC with a waiver due to deceased spouse. In 2023 I remarried. I am going to file for citizenship in August 2025 but I am unsure how to complete the questions in part 1. My deceased spouse was a US citizen but had passed before ROC. Is my application based on my marriage to him or would it be my current husband? I know I can change my name on the application but am confused if I also need to brought current spouses information. Thank you in advance.
