Hi everyone! Looking for some opinions/ anyone with experience with this seemingly gray area.. I will be entering via k1 visa at the end of September. My physical last day is in a few days, but the official last day according to the schedule is actually in October. I work for a place that offers a yearly 'mental health week' where you can choose to book a whole week off and get paid; it is treated as a PTO. My job cannot be done remotely (think Restaurant), so technically when I enter the States, I will be still an employee, but I will not be performing any work (taking that mental health week). My paycheck would include days after my entry (those PTO days). Would that be considered unauthorized work? I worry that during AOS it will look suspicious that I-94 shows September entry but last day of work is in October. Or should I treat my last day at work as my last physically-worked day? What do you guys think? Am I overthinking or should I ask for my official last day to be before departure? Thank you in advance!

Hi members, I got my I-751 approved and received a 10-year green card. I applied for N-400 in March 2025 and finally have my interview scheduled in a few days. I want to get advice on what to prepare for: - Is the civics test still the 2008 version?
- Are there any moral character documents I should bring?
- Should I bring originals of all documents submitted with my N-400?
- My husband will accompany me will he be asked questions or interviewed along with me?
- Any tips for the English and civics test or typical interview questions?
- Any recent experiences or changes in USCIS procedures that I should be aware of?
Any advice or guidance from anyone with recent experience would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hello, My husband entered the country through the K-1 visa in 2018 (and this website was SO helpful!!! We did it without the help of a lawyer!). Due to the pandemic, we kind of fell through the cracks and he finally got his green card in 2023. His Canadian passport is due to expire in December. He wants to renew it, but he is concerned because he has to send in the old one, and if there s a family emergency, he won t be able to get to Canada. What have you guys done in this circumstance? Is there a way to get into your home country and back into the states while your passport renewal is pending? TIA

| Is it realistic to hope to get a passport within a week of oath? |

I don't have an oath date yet. Currently waiting for interview, but looking at trends of oaths, I am expecting my oath to be on or about Oct 17. I am due to fly abroad on Oct 25. If this is how my citizenship processing timeline unfolds, I know the only hope I have to get a passport in time is to apply for urgent one day processing at a passport office. How realistic is this though? What are the odds of getting an appointment at a location that is drivable from where I live? Any other ideas anyone has on how I can not postpone an oath, and still be able to travel?
