Hi,

for those still waiting for USCIS approval like myself I submitted the I-129F in April when should I approx expect an interview assuming with the backlogs at both USCIS and the consulate? My consulate is Montreal and they have just began rescheduling cancelled k1 interviews. I was thinking optimistically around Jan or Feb with most likely our interview being scheduled in March or April of next year. Am I being too optimistic?

AOS Form Questions

I have a few questions. I'm currently dropping K1, and got married in the US and adjusting status - I've been in US since May and intended on going back to Canada in August for my job etc, but decided embassy was taking too long to do interviews, so I'm cancelling the K1, and doing it this way so I DID NOT enter knowing I was going to do this.

In the I-485 part 3, question one, it asks if I have ever applied for an immigrant visa to obtain perm. status -- Is it a yes or no for me? I only had gotten to the NoA2 accepted, so not sure if that counts?

Secondly, do I include my NoA2 approved paper somewhere in the paperwork? With a letter explaining as to why I am dropping the K1?

And for Alien number, since Im filing the I-130 at the same time, I obviously don't have one yet right? Or do I use the one on the NoA2 for the K1?

Hi guys

Does early filing calculator apply to both 3y and 5y rule?

for example I was eligible to apply under 3y rule 90d before I got to the 3y of LPR status.

Now it s been almost 5 years as a LPR. I am less than 90 days away from 5y anniversary. I can apply under the 5y rule already ?

thanks

Trump admin's backlog of citizenship applications could prevent some from voting this fall: report

The backlog of citizenship applications in President Trump's administration could prevent some people from voting in the November election, The Washington Post reported Monday.

The backlog in U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) could block applicants, who were hoping to cast their first ballots, from voting in the fall. The USCIS has not released the total number of backlogged cases but has reported hundreds of thousands of citizenship applications are pending, according to the Post.

The latest available data from March 31 found more than 700,000 citizenship applications were pending. The agency has reportedly conducted 156,849 naturalizations since mid-March but more applications still would have been filed in that period, the Post noted.

I can submit I-751 in just about two weeks, and I haven't received anything. I submitted the change of address forms about 10 months ago, and haven't received any sort of confirmation. Should I have? Is it possible that USCIS doesn't have our updated address (which has a PO Box as a mailing address on top of the physical address, adding to the possible confusion).

If my change of address forms were undelivered, do I just fill out I-751 like nothing happened with our new address?

Sort of related: has anyone had issues with different mailing addresses? That is, USCIS sending notices to the physical address, rather than a mailing address?

I have the option to put my physical/mailing address as:

123 Name Street - 456

Where 123 Name Street is my physical address, and 456 is the PO Box. Alternatively, I have the PO Box as a mailing address. Not sure if it's better to do the "- 456" or keep them separate. If it gets cut off, I won't get the mail.
