Hi! I'm Aes, and I'm from Canada. My husband (Max,) is an American citizen, and we've been working on Adjustment of Status since late April. I originally came to visit in January, the plague hit shortly after, and we decided to have me adjust status instead of being in a state of not knowing if this visit would be our last for a long while. We've been together 5 years now as of this past July, and married for 3 years as of October 26th! Most of our relationship in the first three or so years was online with visits here and there, but in May 2019, I came to visit for his birthday, and we just started travelling back and forth together. May to Sept, I was here; Sept to Jan, he and I went back to Ontario, and from January on, I've been here again! It's been such a whirlwind with everything happening in politics and health, but I'm just glad we're together. My AOS NOA date is April 23rd (or 24th, I'm tired and can't remember,) and we just got my biometrics notice, so my work permit should be here soon!! I like coffee, cats, and creating things. Max and I want a farm someday, with chickens, a big garden, and an old timey radio in the kitchen. He's a 3D video game artist and character designer, and I'm still undecided (but leaning towards being a writer!) I collect vintage objects and try to restore them, and I love to sew, paint, do needlepoint, and spend literally all my time with my cat. Nyx is a 5 y/o black cat that talks a lot and loves to lay on me--Max and I 100% call her our kid, because we're those people and love her that much. A question here to anyone reading: What's your favorite book? If you're not a book person, what about favorite movie? Hope everyone is well and safe!

Hey all! I'm very unsure as to where I should post this--I'm not on here very often, though I'd like to change that, and there's just so many places and information blips that I get a bit confused. I'm currently in WA state, going through adjustment of status. I'm Canadian, married to an American citizen, and when I came to visit, the plague hit and we decided to apply for AoS. So...I'm not sure if I fall under AoS, or CR-1, or....where I should go. (That was a very long winded way of saying hello and I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong place!) My question is very much what it says on the tin--we applied back in April, got our NOA on April 23rd (or 24th, I just woke up and the papers are all in my desk where I, sadly, am not.) I just got my biometrics appt. notice on Friday, but I have yet to receive my AP or my EAD. I know from the timelines I've seen that this is past expected waiting time for those documents (technically one, I believe our lawyer had us file for a combo card,) and I'm starting to get antsy not being able to work. Husband has been laid off since June, and not being able to contribute to the house is starting to feel worse and worse with the days passing. I wanted to ask anyone here that might come across this--what was/is your wait time looking like? Is it normal to wait nearly 6 months for your EAD/AP to arrive? Is there somewhere I should be calling to ask these questions as well? Thank you to anyone who's read this! I hope everyone is well and safe.

Hey all! Does anyone have experience withdrawing their application/sending a letter to USCIS to explain your situation changed? We applied in October 2018, and only now in August 2020 did I get a temporary working permit. I haven't been allowed to leave the USA in over a year, and family members passed, and the pandemic & cuts to immigration here just make it feel hopeless. Obviously, my spouse is American (I am Canadian), and we have lots of family & friends on both sides of the border, so I am terrified of being banned from re entry, but also just can't wait around forever and not say goodbyes to loved ones at home. It's been a really difficult year, I don't know what to do. Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section, I don't know who to talk to, my husband's family is very insensitive to the stress we've been under. Thanks

Hi, my exam is after tomorrow for my Oct 27 interview. Has anyone had their medical done since covid for the rescheduled interviews? I know you can't pick up your results in person anymore and they need to be mailed. They couldn't book me anything closer to my interview anyway and recommended at least like 5(ish?) days so I'm doing two round trips to Montreal. Closest they could give me was the 14 at such a short notice so short of spending 1500$ on plane tickets, I'm bussing from eastern Canada, 3x14 hours bus rides that'll be fun. (Have a voucher from my cancelled April flight for the final flight back at least lol) Anyways, nervous right now and reading people's posts from how their medical went precovid but I'm sure a lot will be different? Anyone? I'll update with how mine went later too. Thanks!

Good morning! It's been about 10 years since I touched any immigration stuff so I'm a little rusty and I'm hoping someone can help. I'm filling out Form I-90 to renew my green card and I'm trying to make sure I'm entering 2 fields correctly. In Part 3, Processing Information, it's questions 1 and 2: 1. Location where you applied for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status. Would the location I applied for an immigrant visa be my hometown, including where I had my K-3 visa interview? Is this information somewhere on the paperwork I filed, or that was sent to me by USCIS? 2. Location where your immigrant visa was issued or USCIS office where you were granted adjustment of status. Is the location where my immigrant visa was issued the USCIS office I received a bunch of my paperwork from (say California?) or would the office that granted me adjustment of status need to be super specific or would just the state I reside in be sufficient? I recall going to two offices in the Denver vicinity, but not which one exactly issued my AOS. Again, would that information be somewhere on the paperwork I filed, or that was sent to me by USCIS? Lastly, I'm trying to "verify" my identity on my newly created USCIS account (I don't recall this existing 10 years ago), and I know my A number but I've tried all types of receipt numbers, I tried the number on my passport from when I first crossed the border, but there's no letters, so nothing is working. Anyone else have this issue? Trying to figure out where else I can look for DOS Case ID, or is it just that I don't have any pending cases at the moment and once I receive a letter back from USCIS for renewing my green card, then I'll be able to? Thank you for your help! ~Cat
