Is Nebraska Service Center considered fast or slow currently when it comes to i130 processing?

I have been trying to find this information, and getting conflicting results. From posts on this site, it appears that Nebraska Service Center has a bad rep of being slow even as recently as 2019. However when I look at the official processing times posted on USCIS website, it appears to be one of the faster centers currently.

I was wondering what is the current opinion among other members? Also what would be a good source for this information?

I am asking specifically for i130 processing for a spouse of US citizen (spouse living abroad).

Can anyone share with me how long it took for them to receive approval of their Green card after the application was received by USCIS? We are over 5 months now and still no word. My wife is Canadian. I was living in Canada at the time with her when we filed but have since moved back to the States.

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I logged into the site. And it's beena long two years for my husband and me.

Please see this thread

for an explanation of what happened, and also you can check my timeline for a fuller picture if you like.

My husband and I have stayed in close contact during our period apart, spending a lot of time together online via Zoom etc.

So basically, we both had plenty of time to contemplate, talk things through, and we want to give the marriage another shot.

Today we began to fill out the paperwork for an I130.

However, in the instructions for filling out the I130, under the heading: You may NOT file Form I-130 for a person in the following categories,

Part 6B: Spouse: Your spouse has lived outside the United States, after the marriage, for a period of at least two years;

I am not sure exactly if this applies to our situation.

We did live together in his home in the US for six months from my arrival on March 26 2018, to my exit on Oct 3 2018.

We were married on June 14 2018.

My online research doesn't return much helpful info. Could anyone shed any light on what this means/whether it applies to us?

Is there perhaps a different visa or procedure we need to be looking at?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Hi guys,

so because of my situation and getting an interview date really soon, I called to book a medical and they told me they had no openings before my interview. But they can do it a day after.

Has anyone ever had their interview before their medical exam?

I'm assuming they ve done that before ... or maybe started because of covid. Just wondering if I should be cool about it or inquire more?

Because everything I m reading says to get the medical beforehand.

Thanks!

Bringing Parents to Live in the United States as Permanent Residents

I will soon be an American citizen and was wondering what the best path forward is for bringing my parents to the United States as GC holders.

My parents both live in Canada, so I know I can file the I-130 and wait for that approval.

But if they enter the United States and then are currently in the United States, I should be able/eligible to file Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, at the same time as you file Form I-130.

What is the better path?

I would prefer that they remain in the United states while their applications process, but will that hurt their chances?
