Hi there if changing the joint sponsor the day of interview would that cause delays or would they just accept the new documents then and there? Considering this as I have a more qualified joint sponsor. thanks

I'm so new to this page and havent figured out how to search for the topic im asking about. Forgive me if this is redundant! I have an RCMP background check that I completed in March. My local OPP did the fingerprinting and royally messed it up, causing me to redo it.... the final copy I received doesn't say "other" like many others have said theirs does... mine says "non certified". I contacted the RCMP and one of the officers explained that it is a contradiction to order a certified record check under the privacy act as they cannot certify it with a seal... I wasn't going to worry about it.. but now I am seeing many others saying their form says "other" so I'm going to redo my background check.. But now I have seen that the RCMP says the Privacy Act Request has changed... Im not sure what this means in terms of me obtaining the right document? Do I still request the BC under the privacy act? Sorry for rambling, hopefully someone can make sense of it. Thank you in advance

Change of Address Complications for pending I-751 |

Hello, I am a Canadian citizen and married to a US citizen. My I751 petition was filed in March of 2020 while I was living in the US. Since then, I have had to move back to my home country of Canada due to several reasons: my wife has a serious mental health condition and I can't live safely with her; I have not been able to find work and am hoping i can find it in Canada; COVID restrictions have made finding work difficult in the USA and I wasn't able to afford full health insurance; my wife has not been reliable in providing finances for me to live separate from her in the USA. I have recently updated my physical and mailing address on my USCIS Online Account. However, it seems they ALSO want you to file an AR-11 (Change of Address) form online. When I tried to do this, the form would no accept a Canadian address as the address I have moved to. Only a US address. I tried calling USCIS but could not get past the automated attendant to speak with a real agent to chagne my address. Questions: Do I need to file AR-11 if I updated my address on my USCIS Online Account? Is there some way to contact an agent on the phone to update the address to a Canadian address? I am also aware that by moving back to Canada I may have jeopardized my I751 petition and green card status, but I had no other choice: I could come home, or live on the street. Any help would be great, Thanks!

Has anyone received an update on when K1 cases will get transferred to the consulate any time soon? We haven t gotten new dates since Nov 16th and I m quickly losing hope again. I really hope they do K1 and CR1s in January and not just CR1. Any ideas?

Joint Sponsor versus gifted assets? |

Someone who had offered to be a joint sponsor is now looking into the route of simply gifting me enough assets to cover my spouse. This is a brand new idea to me, but from my general poking around, as well as the i-864 request for 12 months of bank records, I imagine this is probably exactly the kind of thing they're on the lookout for as potential fraud. Does anyone have experience with providing proof that that money was gifted to me as an early chunk of inheritance, with no expectation of it being returned? Yes, we know it's right before this process, but no it is not fraudulent? Or is it just a matter of dollars and cents? FWIW we are consulting a lawyer; I just value the collective experience on here, too.
