Anyone has their Jan 29 2025 interview in Montreal rescheduled by the consulate due to unforseen reasons?

My wife (applicant) just received an email today stating the following:

On the ais.usvisa-info.com website, it still shows my wife scheduled for 1/29/2025.

My stepkid doesn't even show up on the website since the consulate "added" her and let us know via email (I request that my congressman's office asked that my stepkid gets merged on the same day as my wife's). I guess we're bringing the kid with us regardless if we still haven't recieved a notification that the kid's interview date was also moved.

Her new interview date is Jan 14. Good thing that I purchased flight tickets that had a no change fee (still economy) with Air Canada since I felt that I should do that just in case eventhough it was more expensive that regular economy basic.

Hello,

I received my certificate of naturalization but forgot to sign it at the ceremony.

I remember the clerk mentioning a specific color pen to use to sign it. I'm pretty sure he said blue and they were handing out blue pens, but I forgot and wanted to confirm with folks here.

Would folks happen to know if blue or black is preferred for the Certificate?

Much thanks.

K1 Visa - Question about Beneficiary Information & Sponsor's Travel History

Hi guys, first time poster here!

I am (the beneficiary) helping out my partner with I-129F for our K1 sponsorship and have a few questions that would love to hear some insights and clarification from other members! :)

My background:

- Nationality is Vietnam no Canadian PR.

- Currently on Study Permit and will finish my school around Winter/Summer 2026.

Questions I have atm:

1. Address History Section - Do I have to list everything out (past 5yrs) including the one I temporary stayed for 3 months?

2. Name & Address in Native Language - Should I use Vietnamese name (latin with diacritics) and current address in Canada? (this is my main residency address since 2023 and I will be staying here till I finish my school.)

3. Consular Processing Information - Should we put the Montreal location one? (it was the only one showed up when we searched for K1 Processing in Canada.)

4. He occasionally drive to Toronto to visit me a lot during the past 2 years. As far as i know, he used the passport card every time he enters and there was no stamps or whatsoever, is there anyway for us to obtain the entry/exit timestamps because I think the border patrols definitely has it, just not sure where to look (I'm guessing it has to be on Canada gov website??)

Thanks a bunch for helping us out, and have a merry Christmas everybody!! :D

Requirements for child to immigrate (split)

In order to get an immigrant visa for a step child, your wife would need to get written permission for the child to immigrate permanently to the US....OR....have a court order awarding her full custody. Time to talk to the child's father.

What about the following fact pattern?

My Canadian wife has sole/legal custody (via signed seperation agreement) of her 9 year old (my step child). The biological father only has visitation rights. Hence, we're moving across the border so that the visitation right is not interrupted.

She and my 9 year old has an interview next month in Montreal (IR-1 and IR-2). We plan on bringing the seperation agreement. However, in general, we're not sure if we'll get rejected from immigrating since we don't know if we need his permission or not. The ultimate decision/legal (per seperation agreement) resides with my wife though not with the biological father.
