Hey everyone, Just FYI, my biometrics appointment has been rescheduled again. Filed I-485 in early May of 2020, got an RFE a few weeks later, took care of that, and got the notice in early December for a Christmas Eve biometrics appointment. Between receiving the notice and the actual date, the federal government decreed Christmas Eve to be a national holiday, and so offices were closed (I still drove more than an hour to my appointment location, just in case! it was certainly closed). I got a notice less than three weeks later inviting me to a new biometrics appointment on January 20th. USCIS's website says offices, including application support centers, are closed for January 19 and 20 for safety reasons, they said. Things were going pretty well and smoothly up until now! We're running into serious delays, as most people are... wish you all the best and hope everything goes well.

My husband( Canadian borne and US citizen) and I got married May 2019 in NY and we moved to Toronto,OntarioCanada (job offer, staying together, avoid looking bad with my tourist visa). On February 2020 with a lawyer in PA applied for I-130 petition for alien relative and I-129f petition for alien fianc / spouse. My husband truly regrets moving to Canada, he can t stand it to the point he is willing to go drive truck just to get back to the US while Oil and Gas picks up again. We haven t had any news after the first notice of Action for both In March 20 2020 from the Potomac USCIS. My husband is wondering if as many Canadian snowbirds we can go spend the winter together in the US as an excuse to wait there for 6 months instead of staying in Ontario with all the ridiculous lockdowns. I have a tourist visa and I am Canadian resident. Is not going to the peace bridge and saying I intend to live in the US since residing is in fact staying more than 6 months in a place more than another. Our financial situation is deteriorating as the Canadian Government keeps shutting down everything and his work requires travel within provinces. Everything is so much more expensive here too. It s ridiculous! We could be sitting as well in Florida or visiting my family in Phoenix. Whats next? a NVC notice? When do I get to schedule an appointment? Then I come to know that there is no visa consular filing in Canada.

Does NBC Schedule Interview or Local Field Office? |

Hi We submitted our AOS from F1 in Feb, 2020 (crazy that it's been almost a year!). I had my biometrics taken in October and our I-485 updated to "ready to schedule interview" shortly thereafter. I called USCIS today requesting an expedite on the EAD/AP, and out of curiosity asked if our file has been transferred to our local field office (Pittsburgh). I was surprised to hear that our file is still with the NBC. It was my understanding that the file should be transferred to the field office when it is ready to be scheduled for an interview, and the field office then schedules the interview. After the phone call with USCIS, I did some googling and have seen conflicting reports that NBC actually schedules the interview and then transfers the file to the field office after the interview is scheduled. Does anyone happen to know which is correct? Or most correct, given the chaos that is the USCIS? Thanks

Hi all, I just got my interview letter - awesome. I'm just wondering, after the interview, how do you get your visa? When I filed my paperwork with the NVC, I lived in Montreal, but since then I moved back in with my parents in Toronto. At the interview, will I have the opportunity to provide my parents address to have the visa mailed there? Thank you so much for any help.
