For DS-260, I require Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) from three countries: 1. India (lived there from 1998 to 2009 - turned 16 in 2000) 2. Singapore (lived there from 2009 to 2018) 3. Canada (living here since 2018) Question 1: I have Police clearance certificates for India dated Feb 2018 which I obtained when applying for permanent residency in Canada. I last I lived in India was in 2000. Since the issuance of this PCC, I have only been to India for two visits - the first for 2 weeks and the second for 6 days, both end of 2018. The PCC reads - "there is no adverse information against xxx which would render him/her inelligible for grant of travel facilities including visa for Canada." Would this PCC be accepted for DS-260? Question 2: I have a Police Clearance Certificate from Singapore dated January 2020. It was procured for security clearance for working on Govt projects here in Canada. I left Singapore before issuance of this PCC and haven't returned since. It reads, "This is to certify that xxx has no criminal record with this Department in Singapore from 18 June 2009 to 07 July 2018. This certificate is issued only for the holder for use in Canada." Would this PCC be accepted for DS-260?

Hi all, I've read through many of these threads and they've been pretty helpful! I figured I'd pitch my own situation to see if anyone has input. - My husband entered on a K1 visa on December 12, 2020
- We were married on December 20, 2020
- Therefore, we was only in the US for 20 days in the year 2020
- He has made $0 in the US and will not make any money until he receives his employment authorization
- We applied for his SSN on December 23, 2020 and received a confirmation letter on January 2, 2021. Called for an update yesterday and they said they still have not received confirmation of his documents from Homeland Security so the wait for an SSN continues.
So my questions: - I know I will file as married. Is jointly or separately advised?
- Do I need to get him an ITIN since we still do not have an SSN?
- Any consideration for the income he made in Canada during 2020?
- Can I successfully do taxes with a service like TurboTax, or am I better off hiring someone who specializes in both US and Canadian taxes?
- Any advice on him filing his Canadian taxes?
Many thanks for everyone's help!

I know that DS-260 is an online form. I am trying to understand how and when the supporting documents are to be submitted. Is it uploaded online during the DS-260 application or couriered over immediately after DS-260 application or at some point later or just to be brought during the interview?

Apologies if this seems repetitive. I am trying to figure out the most strategic time to change the name on my passport after marriage during the IR1/CR1 process. I have read the previous posts on this, but didn't find one that relates exactly to mine, so I thought I would post here for advice. 1. We got married on Oct 1, and are currently waiting for i130 Approval (submitted on Nov 16 2020, and is actively being reviewed currently). I changed my last name during the marriage, but my passport still has my maiden name. 2. The i130 was files with married name (maiden name was put under "other names" 3. We want the visa and green card to be issued on my married name. 4. The DS-260 form very clearly says the name to be filled should be as per the passport Would it be ok for us to file the DS-260 with maiden name (which is the name on my passport); maiden name will be put under "other names." Then after DS-260 submission, apply for a new passport and then bring it to the interview? Would that allow the visa and green card to be issued in my married name. Also any issues I could anticipate with Police Clearance Certificates, medical reports etc?

Went through K1 Visa process a few years ago, ended up leaving the US without adjusting status. No green card, no nothing. Long story short, we stayed in contact, never divorced or even filed for a legal separation, and are now attempting to apply for a 1R1 visa. Alright, so the I-130 clearly asks for an A number (if any) on the form. My husband says we should leave it blank. He thinks they will assign another one since this will be an entirely different case/process. We tried researching this, but ended up more confused. So could I ask, please: Should the alien number I already received for the old case be supplied on the new form? Thanks very much in advance.
