RFE i-864

I got an RFE on my AOS for insufficient income. They said this on there:

Based on the documents submitted, we could not determine that the petitioning sponsor on Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, is qualified. In order to be a qualified sponsor, the petitioning sponsor s Form I-864 must be properly completed and signed, and the supporting documents must establish that the petitioning sponsor s income meets 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline for the sponsor s household size. Based on the documents submitted, we could not determine that the joint sponsor, [redacted], on Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, is qualified.

The Total Income line on IRS Form 1040 is used to determine qualifying income for a sponsor, not the Gross Receipts line from IRS Schedule C or C-EZ.

My husband does not make any income since he goes to school. So he has no income coming through, and he has not filed any taxes. My father-in-law agreed to be my joint sponsor. He had a company he no longer owns, and his adjusted gross income for the past 3 years was significantly lower than the household threshold. However, this year in June, he started a new job and he s been making over $2,400 a week, which is around $100k yearly. I was able to provide 3 months of pay stubs, a letter explaining his past business income that will not affect him anymore, and employment verification.

I was told that current income was king. So what do I do?

I don t know if the verification letter might be why, since it doesn t mention a salary.

My fianc is Canadian and 9 days ago we received from Montreal the Packet 4 interview preparation email, but when I go on the website provided to try to schedule the visa interview appointment, it says that our case is not ready to be scheduled for an appointment. Wondering if this has happened to other people or if this is normal. I emailed and I got an automatic response saying they'll respond within 3 business days, and called 3 times but each time I kind of got the run around and never got to talk to a real person.

Is there an additional fee after we paid the CEAC fees? (Affidavit and IV Application)? After reading the interview prep guide in their website it indicated there's an immigrant fee. I thought that's what the $325 fee was when we had to submit those before the civil documents? Is this another fee we'll have to pay provided we get approved? These fees are adding up Boundless was supposed to give us the breakdown but they didn't give us that fee!

Hello good people.

I submitted the packed for the removal of conditions a week before going on a month long trip abroad. Upon return I went through my mail and realized I missed the appointment. From my research, doing a walk in is a good option but the office they assigned to me is far and I'm going to be this week in NYC and want to try walk in there. Does anyone know if you can go to the ASC that you were not assigned as your ASC or should I only do a walk in in the office I was assigned?

Declaring previous visa's on DS-260, does visitor visa count?

Little bit of an odd question and I can't find an answer. When I did my long visit to my husband back in 2022 before we were married, I was held for questioning, got fingerprinted and eventually the officer was extremely kind and let me go after stamping my passport and told me I had to be back before said date passed. Problem is, I don't have that passport anymore since the Canadian government takes them back when you get a new one (now with married name) so I don't know what it said. Do I have to declare this on my DS-260 as a previous visa? Since technically it was just done at the Canadain-US land border crossing?

Bonus question: My I94 doesn't reflect another stay I did, do I skip that one and add the following? It was only a 4 day visit in 2023 but I noticed it isn't reflected on my current travel records.
