Work permit expiring, already had my interview but no answer |

This is probably a unique situation, but I am a little worried. My original AOS interview was scheduled for August 6th, 2020, but our son decided he wanted to be born early on August 5th so we obviously had to reschedule. New interview was on January 25, 2021. My green card was not approved immediately because I did not complete a new medical, though the instructions say that if you file for your adjustment within one year you don't need an updated medical. I printed those instructions to show the woman who interviewed me and she agreed but said that she just needs her supervisor's approval to approve my case without a new medical. In fact, she asked us maybe 3 questions total because she said that our case was so strong and clearly not fraudulent. Anyway, at this point I was interviewing for some jobs but hadn't had an offer yet. My EAD expires February 19, 2021 so at the interview I asked what I should do in the meantime if I do get a job and she said to wait until the expiration is closer to refile for an EAD because a decision shouldn't take too long. She said she'll keep the urgency in mind and do her best to expedite my case so I don't have to worry about renewal. Of course after the interview I immediately get an offer for the job I wanted and ended up starting February 1st. I kept waiting and waiting and finally last week I applied for a renewal for my EAD because I'm scared of it expiring. Not to mention that my license also expires when my EAD expires. My case status online hasn't even changed from "interview was scheduled," I haven't received an approval for my green card or an RFE for the medical. Nothing. I'm hoping that they receive my EAD renewal today or tomorrow so that it is automatically extended another 120 days but I'm really nervous. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi. Like many others, we are struggling to get an SSN and it has now been 8 weeks. If we factor in holiday and all, maybe 7. But still - far longer than SSA estimated. - Applied for SSN on December 23, 2020
- Employee said to look out for a confirmation letter within 2-4 weeks and then the SSN should arrive shortly after
- Received confirmation letter sometime in early January.
- Letter stated we applied on January 2, 2021 which was not true - but maybe that's when the documents were finally submitted to SSA from the local office
- Letter said number would be issued within 4 weeks
- We have now called the local office and the general SSA number and no one has answers
- SAVE status says Case Returned to Maryland SSA (single sign-on) as of January 29, 2021
- Today is February 16, 2021 and we have no updates
- I-94 is valid until March 11, 2021
Does anyone have advice on what to do or where to go next? Further complicating this is tax season - I need to file taxes but cannot file jointly without an SSN and I've heard it takes quite awhile to obtain an ITIN.

Vaccine Exemption for Philosophical Reasons |

Hello all, if this is posted elsewhere, please just help me find it. I'm Canadian, at the beginning of my Visa journey. I have my childhood vaccine record and likely won't need any. However, since becoming an adult and in charge of my own medical decisions, I am philosophically opposed to vaccines. There is a grey area around the TB shot (not required in my age group, I'm 36). But depending on when my medical is the flu shot could also be required. Not to mention when they'll add a C-ov-id vaccine to the list. I've done my research, according to the immigration website I can in fact decline on philosophical grounds. I simply have to write a testimony as such. I'm having a very hard time finding any one who has chose to go down this path of exemption on philosophical grounds. I'm not looking to debate vaccines in any way. I'm Pro-Choice. Just looking for any one who's written such a declaration and what they put in that letter. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help. Jesse

Thank you for all the help on this forum, it is greatly appreciated! We have our interview in a couple days. Marriage based I-485 from an O1 Visa to hopefully permanent residency. How do you transport your documents for the interview? At this point we have been married three years and almost two years since we submitted our application. All our documentation is about 50lbs. Can I just wheel a filing cabinet into the office? Haha
