Hello,

my fiancee is currently visiting me because we had not seen each other for over one year due to covid 19 and Canada would not let me visit her. She has gotten the packet which tells her the next steps. She has to fill a DS-160. Does she have to be in Canada in order to complete it?

We started filling it out and there is a question which asks when is the last time she was in the United States. I do not want to answer incorrectly. If anyone has information on how to answer, please help me. Thanks

i765 Case was reopened after being approved?

Hi guys,

I submitted a I765 expedite request Feb 16 based on job offer. It wasn t looked at. I contacted senator office March 8 they said they will take a look for it for me. They sent another expedite request through their channels on my behalf on March 9th. The next day the I765 was approved and said card is being produced , however, my I131 said case is being reconsidered.

I called USCIS and they said that USICS had put a hold on my I131 due to something possibly in my background check and now they have taken that off and it will be processed as per normal. The Tier 1 did not know if I would be getting a combo card at this point. I wake up this morning and it says case is reopened for both I765 and I131... the senator said they will find out through their liaison what is going on.

Honestly so fed up! Can t find any information on it. However, someone did say that sometimes it goes to the supervisor and they might deny it after the officer has approved it. Maybe that s what is going on.

864 vs 864a question - IR1 wife and kids

Hello all,

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me with what I think is an easy answer, but for some reason I can't get clarification on...

I am a US citizen, married to a Canadian citizen for 13 years. We live in Canada and have been for 12 years. We are moving to Colorado. We have two children under 13 born in Canada.

My job will not remain after we move so my income and my wife's income is n/a. Our only real asset if our home, which is somewhere around $300,000 CAD in equity. In order to make sure we qualify we are having my retired parents fill out an I864 as well (their net worth is substantial and enough to qualify). Their address is my domicile address and very likely where we will be living for a while.

We have everything done with filing except the I864 portion. I thought I would supply their 864 if needed but read that they might have to fill out an I864A (because technically we are going to be in the same house when we arrive.)

Again, thanks so much if anyone can assist on this.

Interview coming in NYC - New job in Indianapolis...

After a long hibernation, I finally got a good job in another state, starting in few days however my interview and family are in NYC. The employer is in a Republican state, so they are requiring me to be on site, no possibility to work remotely as far as they are signaling. I was thinking of flying out after work the day before the interview, spend the night, do the interview around 12PM, and leave later that day. However, I am worried about the COVID tests and quarantine requirements between NY and Indiana because I can't afford to miss work for 2 weeks .My worse case scenario is to reschedule the interview, to probably later this year, when the whole family is in Indiana, as I am not in rush to get any greencard...What are your thought on this issue?

Hello-

I am a US citizen and my fiance and I are getting married next month and applying inside the US. I understand that I need to fill out tons of paperwork. I'm looking at the processing times and they are SCARY. In order to get EAD and AP does the i-130 need to be approved before? On what basis do they approve the EAD and AP?

Also, processing internally, can any of the forms be filed online?

TIA

K
