Asking for a friend, all insight welcome...

Friend came as a minor with parents as visitors to other US family many years ago. US family was never able to file to obtain legal status (boo) for friend/parents.

Fast forward to now... Friend is 33yo, has a 13yo child, & has been married 4yrs to a US citizen. In Nov 2020 friend and husband, who reside in Oregon, utilize a New York/Massachusetts attorney to file AoS. Since that time, friend/husband have heard nothing back from attorney and received no NOA.

Does this present a difficult AoS?

Is it reasonable to have heard nothing for 4mos?

How would members experienced with AoS and lack of current status counsel friend?

We successfully filed and obtained CR-1 independently, but our friend's scenario is out of our wheelhouse...

Hi,

Thank you for all the wonderful help on this forum!

My adjustment of status from O1 to permanent resident based on marriage was approved last Thursday. The card was mailed a couple days after. I received a notice that USPS was "returning the card" as the post office could not "deliver it". Four hours later I got a notice that said USPS "returned the card" and it mentioned the usual warning about returned cards being destroyed after 60 days. However, when I returned home from work I checked my mail and my card was delivered in my mailbox and the USPS tracking number shows that it was delivered.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm guessing I can just continue on my merry way now....

If this topic has been discussed somewhere here, please link me to that as I don t want to create duplicate questions. I ve tried searching the site with no luck. I have also been searching the web and have not been able to come up with any solid answers to this question either. Is having proof of insurance or proof that you will be able to get insurance within 30 days of arriving in the US still a requirement? My embassy is Montreal Canada if that matters.

Hello all, so my fianc had previously filled out the I-134 Affidavit of Support but it was lost in the mail so we need to fill another & now he s panicking over questions he s already answered.

I just wanted to get some guidance on a couple things, I ve looked over the example but still a little confused.

In regards to page 1, question 11-12 I saw on the example they left it blank except for 12 but my fianc was born in the US so do I need to fill out any of that?

Part 3 question 3 about income & assets, do I need to note attached pages for proof on the last other info page or can I just attach it & leave blank (the example had them leaving it blank)?

For Part 3, questions 26-29 he would put my info & the date we filed our I-129F correct?

Part 3, question 38 this is the real confusing one, I have 50% of people saying you need to tick off I intend & then in the other info page explain you ll be providing medical, housing, food etc. Then the other 50% saying to leave it blank & fill it out how it is on the example.

Thank you for any help, I really appreciate it, he s a bit stressed at the moment

Hi everyone. I posted this on the July 2020 I-129F forum also but we received a RFE and they require proof of legal termination of marriage and proof of US citizenship.

I m not sure how to provide proof of legal termination of marriage since I have never been married before. Is it possible they mixed up the information with someone with my exact name? Can anyone suggest how we go about responding to this? Thanks!
