i-751 interview scheduled for 3 days after n-400 interview

Hello, I haven't posted here in awhile so I'm unsure if my timeline is complete. My wife (Canadian citizen) and I applied for her I-751 in March of 2019. It has been ready to schedule for an interview since March of 2020. She applied for naturalization on March 29th 2021, and on April 9th (super fast!) we got the notification that her interviews for both I-751 and N-400 were scheduled.

We got the notices in the mail today, and her N-400 interview is May 25th...and the I-751 one is May 28th! I am so confused, I thought it would be a combo interview on the same day; I also thought I-751 HAD to be approved before they would do the N-400 interview. I called USCIS tonight two different times and spoke to two different officers. The first said simply they will not do a combo interview and that it's fine to have the I-751 interview be a few days later; the other said the officer MIGHT do a combo interview on May 25th but it is up to officer discretion.

Anybody have a similar experience? I just don't understand why they can't do them both in the same day.

Do I need to have joint tax returns with spouse to file for Naturalization

Hi all,

I am a 10-year GC holder, immigrated to the US on a fiancee visa in 2018 and looking to apply for naturalization in the fall. I was looking at the list of evidence that is needed to submit the application, and it appears that we need to submit tax returns for the past 3 years to show evidence of continued marriage. In the first year of marriage my spouse and I did not file our taxes jointly. Would that affect our chances of getting the application approved/should I wait to file until next spring when we have 3 total joint tax returns? Thanks in advance!

Questions: Canadian Citizen Beneficiary Travelling to US During CR1 Visa Processing?

Hello everyone. I have some questions.

My wife and I applied July 16th 2020 for the I130/CR1 spousal visa. We currently just finished up at the NVC Stage and currently wait for our case to be accepted and moved from NVC to Consulate.

My wife can't come here for health reasons and also due to the heavy restrictions Canada put up for travel, so I have been visiting her.

In 2020, I visited her in February, July, and November - for a total of approximately 29 days (each trip was about 1-1.5 weeks in duration).

We both are not doing well having been apart for half a year now, and I plan to go visit her again in June 2021. I have some questions regarding this:

1) Can I safely go visit my wife in June for 2 weeks and then return to Canada, even in the middle of CR1 Visa processing? We have not been DQd from NVC yet. Is there any specific time frame when I should really NOT be travelling to the US to see my wife?

2) If so, what sort of proof can I provide to CBP that I will return to Canada? I will forsure have a return flight and some utility bills and I can get my car insurance. However, I am a nurse and might have to quit my job prior to leaving if they don't grant me the time off to go see my wife. Visiting my wife is more of a priority and at the moment I am financially secure and able to make such actions. I worry of the lack of employment proof might be a barrier.

3) *IMPORTANT* So I am a Canadian Citizen who again, has only been in the US for a total of 29 days in 2020. I have never been in the US in my life prior to then. However, I went to check my I-94 and it says "admit until date is May 5th 2021". What does this mean? Can I not go visit my wife in June now or will this autorenew? This is the most important question of the three we would like some help with.

Thanks kindly.

MElissa

Alright so I'm excited but also slightly confused. I sent this email to them because I wanted to make sure they had the right email for our P4. The odd part is that we haven't received a P4 so we have no Confirmation email? We also never set up an interview or anything so I'm assuming they do it for you? When I click the link it takes me to an NVC page talking about an interview with the actual NVC. What is happening lol?

I-601 for vaccination waiver

We object to vaccinations on moral and religious grounds. Imagine my surprise when I found out that vaccinations are mandatory for immigration but not mandatory for citizens at the federal level. I found my husband could file an I-601 waiver for the vaccinations, but it is up to the CO whether it will be approved or not. Has anyone been successful with this?
