Is it realistic to hope to get a passport within a week of oath? |

I don't have an oath date yet. Currently waiting for interview, but looking at trends of oaths, I am expecting my oath to be on or about Oct 17. I am due to fly abroad on Oct 25. If this is how my citizenship processing timeline unfolds, I know the only hope I have to get a passport in time is to apply for urgent one day processing at a passport office. How realistic is this though? What are the odds of getting an appointment at a location that is drivable from where I live? Any other ideas anyone has on how I can not postpone an oath, and still be able to travel?

Hello everyone, I need some guidance from anyone in here hoping that someone can help me with my problem. Back in May 2019 I made a big mistake in my life. I was involved in the crime. It was label alternate at the retail store. I found guilty and paid fine and cost on the hearing date (No Jail time and No probation). My case has been closed on July 2019. It was summary offence. I applied my N 400 Dec 2021 and gave my interview on Sep 2022. After few week later my case has been denied due to following issue. During the interview and review of your application with an Immigration Services Officer (Officer), you testified that the information on your Form N-400, along with any amendments made during the naturalization interview, and the documents submitted by you were true and correct. The record reflects that during the statutory period of December 2016 to the present you were arrested on May 2019 and charged with Retail Theft- After Label/Pricing Marking. You pleaded guilty and were sentenced to pay fines and costs. To be eligible for naturalization, you must demonstrate that you are a person of good moral character. USCIS finds that the unlawful act you committed and were convicted of adversely reflects upon your moral character. Additionally, you have not established any extenuating circumstances that would warrant a departure from this finding. Since you have not established that you are a person of good moral character because of the crime you have committed, you are ineligible for naturalization at this time. See INA 101(f) and 316(a)(3) and Title 8, Code of Federal Regulations (8 CFR), section 316.10 (b)(3)(iii). Now It has been over 5 years and I requested to court house for expunge my summary offence and it was granted on November 2024. I am aware about that USCIS can still bale to see that record. Would you be guys advice me to re-apply again for the N 400 or do you guys want me to still wait ? I will waiting your comments and suggestions. Please do the needful. Thanks in advance My timeline as follows: GC received March 2017 Offence May 2019 Case closed July 2019 Applied N 400 Dec 2021 N 400 Denied Sep 2022. Expungements Granted on Nov 2024.

In July of 2024, I filed an I-130 for my son to move to the US. We just got an approval for the I-130 and the case has been sent to the NVC for processing. He lives in Canada with my ex-wife. One of the things to submit is the I-864 (AoS). I am married with my wife here in the US. My confusion is about which I-864 to file AND what supporting documents to share. Here is our situation: On my own, I make well over the required income. My wife and I both work and we file our taxes jointly. The question is, do I file I-864EZ or I-864? It seems that the EZ form will work for me, but then then does my wife also need to file an I-864A, since we jointly file our taxes? And what documents should we submit? I have IRS return transcripts for 3 years, and I also have my and my wife's W2s for the last year. Do we submit the I864 and I864A along with only one year's IRS transcript or do we also submit our 2024 tax return (1040) with the W2s for both me and her? The confusion is about transcripts vs tax return and whether W2s and 1099s are to be submitted or not. I am happy to submit all of them, but not sure if giving too much information can result in the app being denied or delayed. Any help as to what form(s) to submit as Affidavit of Support and what documents to submit with them is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I, as a US citizen, petitioned for my my parents I-130. No issues or RFI's along the way and they successfully crossed the border together with their I-130 Visas on August 29, 2025. No issues during processing at the border, were told welcome to the U.S., imported their car, etc. Both got their passports stamped with the I-551 with the date they crossed (i.e., their temporary green card for 1 year while they await their physical card). I paid their immigrant fee before they crossed. Both my parents also received their SSN's in the mail at their U.S. address earlier this week. I have been routinely checking their Case #'s (associated with the fee payment) online using the USCIS Case Statuses site. My mother's status showed "card ordered to be produced" on 9/6/2025; and then progressed to "we mailed your card" on 9/11/2025. My father's case number however still shows no update, just that the fee was paid in early August. Today however, we received a I-797C notice in the mail at his U.S. address for a finger printing appointment at his local USCIS office (appointment a week and a half from now). I assume I shouldn't be worried since everything at the border went fine? And they both got their SSN's in the mail? I assume after this appointment his physical Green Card ordering/mailing will also happen? He got finger printed at the consulate and everything already months ago as part of the interview...everything was fine. I also had to do this process when i went through my K1 process but it's just odd my mom didn't have to so now I'm just wondering what is going on....why. Has anyone else had this happen where one parent received a I-797C post crossing for finger prints done, while the other parent just has it sent/mailed?

Hey all! Actively filling out our form now! Just a few questions as I really get into the weeds of this thing. I've only had two addresses for the past five years, and I remember all the details about them. But my lady has had many addresses when she moved around a lot, and is having difficulty remembering exactly where she went and for how long. Is that a deal breaker if addresses are missing or inaccurate, or not a critical detail? What about timing of those addresses? She's trying to get the most accurate info she can for me. She has lived in the same place for about three years now, once she got settled in. Another detail she is having trouble finding is the date of birth of her mom. I assume that is a critical detail, so I'm putting a priority on finding that.
