Hello, I am currently a U.S. citizen and thinking about applying for /renewing B1/B2 tourist visa for my dad. My parent once came to the U.S. on tourist B1/B2 visa around 11 years ago, and at that time, I was a student on F1 visa applying for the tourist visa for my dad. Now, the B1/B2 visa that my dad held was expired, and my immigration status also shifted from an international student to a U.S. citizen. I want to know, in this situation, if I want to get a new tourist visa for my dad to come to the U.S. to visit me now, do i need to completely apply for a new tourist visa for him? Or, is there a possibility to renew the previous expired visa and possibly skip the interview at consular office? Thank you very much for all your help!

Hello Members, I'm a LPR since 05/10/2022 (this is the date since when I am LPR and GC expired on 05/10/2024) and as I understand my eligibility date starts from 02/09/2025 based on the 3 year rule as I am married to a USC. My I-751 is still actively being reviewed for about a year, I submitted it on Feb 29, 2024. I have before queries if someone can assist: - I have an uscis account with my spouse (US citizen) email but it's for myself, can I use the same account or do I need to create a new uscis account with my email? All my previous applications like 485, 131 and 751 etc are attached to this online account. This account was created by my husband back in the days when we started our K1 application.
- Everything is to be submitted online there is no paper forms involved for n400?
- Are people here preparing for civic test after submitting the n400 online or after they get their interview scheduled? Is all the material available on the uscis website or there is other online material also that people prepare from?
- Is it better that one gets scheduled for combo (both pending I-751 and n400) interview and its there a way to ensure that happens?
- any other tips before getting started with the N-400 filling process?
Thanks for taking the time to read through my questions and would really appreciate feedback from members who have information to share. Regards.

Hi everyone, I m wondering if anyone else has experienced the following issue when transferring their case from one consulate to another. Here s the background: - DQ on Late Oct 2024 (EB1-A Current).
- I initiated a consulate transfer request in early December because I am currently working in a country other than my home country.
- Since late December, whenever I try to log in to the CEAC portal, I keep getting the following error message:
"The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance. - I also tried change my case number's first three letter with the new consulate location, still the same error.
Has anyone else faced this problem after requesting a consulate transfer? I ve contacted the NVC via public inquiry, but I m still waiting for a response and thought I d check here to see if this is a common issue or if there s something specific I might have overlooked. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Recommendation for cross-border (USA/Canada) CPA/professional for financial advice prior to moving to the US |

Any Canadians that moved to the US, did you consult with a cross border CPA (for financial planning and not necessary just tax filing but tax implication as well) and if so, can you recommend one since there are so many? My Canadian wife has: - retirement account from her work
- collegel account for our kid (RESP?)
- investment account(s)
- contemplating selling her house before moving
She is trying to figure out some implications with those Canadian accounts prior to moving into the US: - minimize taxes to either US and/or Canada
- she hope that any mandatory monetary conversion of those Canadian accounts into US funds can be delayed until USD/CAD exchange rate is more favorable for her.
Thank you.

Hello! Does filing i-129f while your Canadian fianc is the USA look bad on the application? Question 38a asks if they are currently in the USA, if they are here as a visitor for a few weeks and then leaving, is that okay? I may be over thinking it but thought I'd ask! Thank you!
