Just checking: copies of I-129F packet? |

I've read the guides, searched the forum, and looked at the Canada consulate reviews, so I think this is fine, but I just want to check: I'm putting our initial I-129F packet together now and it's recommended to mail a copy of the "exact" packet to your fianc e. We have every page we're submitting (including scans of all the signed pages) in a shared Dropbox anyway (and we've kept extra wet copies/extra passport photos in case the packet gets lost) and I'd rather not waste the paper, printer ink, paper clips, post-it notes, and cost to ship an "exact" copy of the packet to my fianc e. I also don't see the point in making another packet for myself since I can just print the contents out again if needed. Is it fine if my fianc e just reviews the packet contents on her own/brings her own printouts to the interview? Does she even need to bring a copy of every single page of the I-129F to the interview, or just the evidence (and of course, what she's required to bring to the interview)? Honestly from the reviews, it doesn't seem like any of the I-129F content is ever asked for.

TIA for reading Previous Situation: My son is 19 in F2A category. I have a GC, applying for a GC for him. Everything got approved at NVC and is on hold due to proclamation. My I864 got approved. we are just waiting for interview. Who knows if the proclamation will be extended after Dec 31. Current: He and his girlfriend want to do the K1 route starting January if nothing moves on my petition with him. Girlfriend will move in with me in January from Sacramento and start the K1 process. She will start working right away (hopefully) but who knows if she will meet the minimum requirement for I134. Can his and/or my assets be counted toward the I134? We will all be living together. How and when will joint sponsorship play into the K1 process? Thanks Anna

As the Indian consulates start to reopen for some visa processing, I decided to reach out to them to try and get a date for when they might resume K-1 visa processing. I got the following response Quote Thank you for writing to the U.S. Visa Service Desk. We understand that you would like to know whether you can apply for fianc e visa (K visa). In response to your question, we would like to inform you that the United States Embassy and Consulates in India remain closed for routine consular services at this time including K visas. Embassies and consulates have canceled all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments as of March 20, 2020 but will continue to provide emergency and mission-critical visa services as resources and local conditions allow. The Presidential Proclamation 9994 details the suspension of entry for immigrants applies to people who do not have an immigrant visa that is valid on April 23, 2020 and on certain visa classes. I was under the impression, and based on the previous statement by the State Department, that K-1 visas would be processed as high priority and they were not impacted by the Executive Orders.

Hi, I'm so confused as to what to put for question 38: I intend or do not intend (have to select one) to make specific contributions to the support of the person named in Part 2. If you select intend specify the exact nature and duration of the contributions in Part 7.

Hi everyone, My fianc and I are waiting for our K1 interview which might happen within the next few months since our consulate is now open. My fianc (beneficiary) was previously in the US on a J1 visa in 2018 and was NOT subject to the 2 year rule. His country (Canada) is not on the exchange skills list, he did not receive government funding (his DS-2019 says personal funds for the source of funding), and he did not receive medical training. However, his DS-2019 is not marked where it says if he is subject or not and Canadian citizens do not receive a J1 visa (see here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/canadian-students/) i was wondering if we should bring anything related to the J1 at his K1 interview to prove he is not subject to the 2 year rule. We plan on bringing his DS-2019, his invitation letter from the program sponsor, and his funding source letter and proof. Will this be enough? What can they see about previous J1 s? Can the officers see things we can t already see regarding the J1? I ve been so anxious about his past J1, please help. Thank you!
