I got an email today saying my visa interview will be on April 7th. My fianc in the US has yet to file her 2020 tax returns (we can do it in the next couple of days) so I am not sure if the scheduled interview date is too soon. We want to use her 2020 tax returns as she well exceeds the 125% poverty limit but her 2019 tax returns barely make it. Should I send an email to my embassy asking for a later interview date? I read another post saying it would take roughly 2-3 weeks for my fianc to get her IRS transcript which might be too late. Or if I keep the date, should I file the 2020 tax return ASAP and just bring the 1040 + all W2's for the 2020 year?

Hello, I am a Canadian applicant for a K1 Visa. My fiancee is in WA, and we filed our I-129 back in early February of 2020. We received our NOA2 Notice of Approval , Dated May 22nd 2020. Since then, we have received no communication from the NVC, or the Embassy in Montreal. There were a few concerns about this, as we never received any notice from the NVC that our case was received, and that a case file was created for us. 1) I am noticing on this website's timelines, people are entering Case receiving dates from the NVC. We never received any welcome package or any other communication from the NVC. In fact, the only way we know they have it is that I called them several times and got our case number and invoice number. They then told me that they don't send out welcome packages or confirmations anymore, and that the only communication we should expect is the letter from the Embassy (the next stage in the workflow). Is this normal for other people during the process, or was this what other people experienced during Covid 19 slowdowns? 2) Our case says "at the NVC" when I check its status on CEAC. Am I supposed to create the DS-160 or will I get prompted to do so later? 3) Does anyone have any idea what the processing timeline is for NOA2s dated in late May 2020? I have tried contacting the embassy several times, and we only get an automated message instructing us of the COVID slowdown and backlog. My fiancee and I are panicking that we missed something and it will screw our entire application. We have already been waiting a year and don't want to have to wait another year.

Hello all, so my fianc had previously filled out the I-134 Affidavit of Support but it was lost in the mail so we need to fill another & now he s panicking over questions he s already answered. I just wanted to get some guidance on a couple things, I ve looked over the example but still a little confused. In regards to page 1, question 11-12 I saw on the example they left it blank except for 12 but my fianc was born in the US so do I need to fill out any of that? Part 3 question 3 about income & assets, do I need to note attached pages for proof on the last other info page or can I just attach it & leave blank (the example had them leaving it blank)? For Part 3, questions 26-29 he would put my info & the date we filed our I-129F correct? Part 3, question 38 this is the real confusing one, I have 50% of people saying you need to tick off I intend & then in the other info page explain you ll be providing medical, housing, food etc. Then the other 50% saying to leave it blank & fill it out how it is on the example. Thank you for any help, I really appreciate it, he s a bit stressed at the moment

Hi everyone. I posted this on the July 2020 I-129F forum also but we received a RFE and they require proof of legal termination of marriage and proof of US citizenship. I m not sure how to provide proof of legal termination of marriage since I have never been married before. Is it possible they mixed up the information with someone with my exact name? Can anyone suggest how we go about responding to this? Thanks!

Hi all, I have a question about the RFE deadline. On January 26, we received a status update saying a Request for Evidence was to be sent to our mailing address. On February 9, we had still not received the Notice, so we submitted an e-request to request a resend of the Notice. It is now February 26, and we have not received the first nor the second Notice. I am getting anxious because our application will be abandoned if we are unable to respond to the RFE by the deadline stated on the RFE notice, but as we never received any notice, we have no idea when the deadline might be. Does anyone know, generally, what the deadline to submit a RFE is from the date it was sent?
