Hi there, I'm preparing for my interview in Montreal for January 18, 2022. My return flight is the next day, January 19. My question is: Is there any reason for me to stick around Montreal for any reason, or am I clear to return back home after the interview? Any help welcome

Hi there, Me (Canadian) and my fianc e (American) and I have received our interview date for January 18 in Montreal! Very exciting, but I have a few questions regarding the medical exam. 1. Is there a specific window the exam needs to be held in relation to my interview date of January 18th? 2. Is there a long wait to schedule an appointment with a physician an approved physician? 3. Do I schedule a Canadian Immigration Exam or a US Immigration Exam? (I'm Canadian moving to the States) Any help is great!

Hi everyone! Back in July 2020 my fiance and I applied for the K1 fiance visa. At the time I was unemployed due to my industry shutting down from Covid and that route made the most sense for us... but in November I managed to land my dream job. Knowing that there's a period where I have to stay in the US until I have a green card in my hand and that the timeline for that is wonky due to covid delays we decided that it would be financially crippling for me to leave the job during that period. We withdrew our K1 visa, got married, and applied for the spousal visa. It'll most likely end up being the same timeline, but at least I can stay in Canada and continue to work while we wait for the GC. After we submitted our withdrawal (we sent a copy to both the lockbox and the California office), I got an approval notice for the K1 visa and a notice saying that my case is being sent to Montreal. How can I ensure that the K1 visa is cancelled so someone else may have that place in line? I tried using Emma but it just sent me in circles. Do I simply just let it expire? Thank you in advance!

(I don't really know the right place to put this, so I'm sorry if this isn't it.) My fianc filed for my K1 application back in August (yay!) but throughout the whole I've done a lot of research on different things regarding the K1 process and I have a couple of questions that I can't find a clear answer on. 1. What family preference does the K1 fall under? I remember when the new preference categories came out due to COVID, there was something that mentioned it was part of the F2A category, but I can't find this information again and I wanted to confirm I'm looking at the right boxes when looking at the visa bulletin. 2. This is the big one: We intended to have a ceremony in Canada, we knew that we wouldn't be able to sign a marriage license or complete the legal marriage process in Canada but we wanted to include my family and enjoy the wedding portion of this process. With that in mind we had planned on having a small courthouse wedding when I arrived in the US after our approval where we would complete the legal paperwork and make things official. However I've since read that even anything that looks like marriage, without any legality to it, could leave me subject to denial of entry. I wanted to know how true this is, and what any recommendations might be (outside of the obvious). [If it's true we would just have the reception/celebration in Canada and take pictures with family and avoid anything that looks like a ceremony, then have a small ceremony in the US instead.] Thanks in advance for the responses!
