  1. Hey there, I would be 110% honest with the consulate. Social media of all kinds make sure it is known. So long that it is not illegal I do not see it being an issue. They are going to check your paperwork and the validity of your relationship that is it and that is all. So long your finances meet the standard abd you go through the process.
  2. thank you for sharing this. It has helped I am so glad i am not the only one that is having a difficult time with this
  3. Yes, you can visit. There should be some type of paperwork involved for the specific country but nothing out of the ordinary.
  4. OMG, I have had so many questions about this as well. Myself and my fiancé are in the process for K-1 and she is in Brazil. The country itself is now starting to recognize civil unions in some states and I was wondering if the Consulate would ask questions about it. Thank you for raising this issue. Your post has been most helpful. Thank you.
  5. Not really, everything is done through their end. Unless you're working with a lawyer, then I would say notify your lawyer just in case. But if you have a lawyer they know the updates as well as you.
  6. I know you have asked about the lawyer but in all honesty, the K-1 process can be done by the couple. I am currently on a k-1 request to bring my fiancé from Brazil and we have done everything ourselves. It will save you a lot of money on the long run and it is a fairly easy process. If you can read/follow directions as well as organize documents in order that is requested it should be a smooth task. For the entirety of the process, myself and my fiancé have read a lot and have done it all together. By doing the application process this way we both gain knowledge as well as we are aware of what needs to be done and what has been done. Nonetheless, if you have the financial means to get a lawyer of course go for it. Just be mindful, you will have to also be on top of the process even if the lawyer is pushing paper. We are all humans and can make mistakes.
  7. Hello there, If you are not adding any information at the page then make sure that all the boxes have N/A and then you are able to send it out and that will no longe be an issue.
  8. I would send an email to the embassy with the full address on paper and they would be the ones to fill that in as they see it fit. That would also provide you proof that you have given the correct address just to cover yourself as well.
  9. I went thru the same thing and still am going through the k-1 process. So yes, you can apply for the tourist visa but getting it approved is truly unheard of.
  10. The income is not as crazy as it seems. So long that you make above the poverty line you should be good.
  11. I would just wait a couple of days until the website is back fully. Being double charged has been a issue with them.
  12. Hello there, you will be able to expedite the interview but the approval will only come once the American embassy gets the medical exam results. At the time of interview they should be able to let you know if approval is only pending from the medical results.
  13. Hey, eu moro em New Jersey, Estados Unidos e sou brasileira. Moro aqui fazem 15 anos. Sempre que vou ao Brazil uso minha driver's license mesmo e funciona sem problemas. espero ter ajudado.
