I would say anticipate up to a month or six weeks...but for some it has been sooner. Ours was about 6 weeks.

Ok...I need your input....

I was getting ready to mail everything off tomorrow. However, I am going to Germany in 4 weeks and am going to stay there for 2 weeks. This could be a conflict with my biometrics appt. Should I wait another week or two before I mail off my application?

Well, I will be traveling back to Colombia at the end of June and I sent the papers anyway. I don't think they will get the Biometrics letter a few days before the actual appointment, but I could be wrong.

I have mine ready to go but I am thinking to wait to get the tax transcripts. It will take 10-15 days to get it.

What you think, is it worth waiting? We don't have mortgage and the house is on husband’s name( Texas law, we didn’t have any options and it cannot be changed. My name was on the deed. ) We have joint accounts.

I didn't wait to obtain the 2007 tax transcripts (anyways, can you do that so early in the tex season?!). I submitted tax transcripts for 2004, 2005 and 2006, and a copy of the 2007 tax payment check. It has both of our names on the check.

I would suggest mailing your application, and getting the process started. IF you are unable to make your scheduled biometrics appointment, you can do a "walk-in" on any Wednesday (with your letter) after your set appointment date. You MAY be able to a walk-in on any other day - at the officer's discresion - that means, you turn up, with letter in hand, and, if they are quiet at the time, they may agree to allow you to have yours done - if they are busy, they can choose to say no - but, on a Wednesday they must let you do them.

I found out this info when my biometrics appointment letter never made it to my mailbox, and I missed my appointment by being unaware it was scheduled.

That said, personally I wouldn't like to leave the biometrics much more than a few weeks after the scheduled appointment date - I don't know if there is a "cut-off" period after which it can't be done - I couldn't get a clear answer on that - mine was delayed by about 27 days.

HTH - and, enjoy your trip!

I say November/Dec/Jan That is where we are going to fall based on how things are going right now. Some people are taking six months after applying in Dec/Jan so I am optimistic. USCIS should be updatigng processing times around the 15th of the month. So It will interesting to see how far they jump. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

Ofcourse their processing times are more like a worst case scenario so I review them very loosely.
