DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

IR1 visa not stamped at port of entry

    Hi All,

I'm really sorry if this was asked before.

I moved to the usa on 9th June on a CR1 visa.

The custom officer did not stamp my passport (I was expected an ink stamp) and told me everything is recorded online. He also told me all the forms are online now. Nothing else.

Does anyone know if this is normal? I am not questionning the authorities protocole, just double checking :)

The officer gave me his name should I need to contact them if any concern

When I went on holiday in the usa last year on Esta, I remember they did not stamp my passport either and I was surprised about it.

On my visa, it says 'Upon endorsement serves as a temporary I- 551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year.'

I also paid my immigrant fees on 29th May 2024. I assume my green card is on the way?

    Thank you for your help

    Hello everyone,

I am in process for a green card sponsored by a company for work purposes. We are filing the change of status this week which means I am not going to receive an answer until next year I am currently under an E2 visa investor under my own business, but my visa expires mid of August, in about 2 months. My question is, do I need to renew my E2 visa or can I wait until my change of status next year? Thank you very much for all your help!

I would like to file the N-600 for my youngest kid and do it online. I read in the USCIS website that you must be 14 years old in order to create an online account in your name. How can I do it online without creating an account for him? Can I use my online account?

I-751 Form part 5 children section

    Hi all!

Its my time to fill out my I-751, it s pretty straightforward but part 5 children section has me a little confused about if I add my step children or not.

My spouse (US citizen from birth) has two children (both US citizens from birth) from prior marriage, I (green card holder) have zero children. Do I add my step kids in part 5 on form I-751 and select that they won t be applying or because they are my step kids I do not add? They both live with us.

Just a little confused on this and have seen conflicting answers in prior threads.

If anyone could shed light on this that would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

    Abbreviation Glossary?

Hello, is there any chance someone can point me to or help make an Abbreviation Glossary for some of the most used terms on this site? I'm actually willing to do this myself and make this the thread for it, if other seasoned members can help provide the most used terms that float around here for us newbies.

As someone going through the process of a CR-1/IR-1 visa, It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out IL means interview letter, and not the state of Illinois.

    So:

    IL = Interview Letter

    DQ = Documentarily Qualified

    Any others?

I file a K1 visa for my husband in 2021 and they refuse him, because of controlled substance and they gave 212 (a) (2) (a) (i) (ii), they claim he is inadmissible. we got married in July 2021 of the same year. and I file an I 130 in 2023, waiting on a response, I'm worried if they will denied me again.

2 years late to file I-751
I am two years late in filing my I-751 form. Here’s the situation:
      - We completely overlooked this particular form.
      - After my initial green card expired, we applied for the I-90, which has been in process for two years.
      - With the extension they provided, I was able to travel and receive my driver's license.
      - In April this year, I filed for the N-400.
      - During this entire time, I received no communication from USCIS regarding missing documentation.
      - Today, at my naturalization interview, I learned I was supposed to file the I-751.
      - After some back and forth with the officer, he still conducted my interview. He mentioned that since I am married and have children, I should not have a problem, and he asked me to submit an affidavit of explanation plus supporting documents.
      - Later today, I received a letter in my portal asking for "missing documents," specifically the I-751. They gave me four days to provide evidence of the I-751 acceptance or processing status.
I am unsure of what to do. Please help and advise.
