Many Russians will say things which would be considered racist in the US. (Some may call it freedom of speech). Many Russians will also say quite insulting things about Russia and Russians. That is only a part of national character (super-negativism), not to be taken personally.

Very few Russians, however, approve of or support Nazi groups or violence.

I am ashamed there are Nazi-like groups at all, I mean after what fascists did in Russia 60 years ago... Most likely Russia will outgrow this trend pretty soon. (I hope).
