This is a lesson in culture folks, a bad one.

Know how women are treated in the culture that your romantic interest was raised in.

In Morocco, women are virtual slaves in parts of the country.

Really, after talking with someone for months or years, you should have a good idea of how you will be treated. Not by the country or culture they come from. I've been to Morocco, and I didn't see any women that were treated like slaves. Yes things are different there, but most men from Morocco treat their women with the highest respect.

And many American women are treated like slaves by their American husbands. Different culture, yes, however the example is not an exclusive one and has little to do with the topic at hand based on what I've read. (posted in response to Spartucus) I do agree with your point sweety&baby. Its not fair to assume so many simply blunder unknowingly into a mixed culture marriage.

To the OP. I have been a single mom from the birth of my son, and I can tell you that it is extremely hard to do alone. There were many days that I wished I wouldn't have done it. If there is any chance of reconciliation, you should at least look into that. This isn't like a marriage between 2 Americans in the same country. He will be sent back to Morocco and if down the road you see that you want to try again, it will be too late. Just be sure that you want this. I'm sorry everyone, but I also think that you need to remove you mother from the picture if you do decide to work things out. A marriage is between husband and wife, not husband, wife, and mother in law. Too many times a mother in law can interfer. If she did it this time, she'll more than likely do it again. I've seen situations like this with couples here, and usually the husband will find someone to talk too. It is all too common. Again, good luck to you, whatever you decide to do.

Now listen up you American women. You are doing it all wrong. You may have considered yourself independent, and capable of making your own decisions and having an opinion. This must stop immediately!!!!

You brought someone here from a different culture that views women in a different manner. Get into step and get with the program!!! I dont want to read of any more of these breakups here. No more of this independent thinking stuff....OK?? From now on "it's YES dear"

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

for the husband....would u want your wife kissing another man? and to let u know something, in america if a wife yells at her husband she is showing she is angry....not disrespect.

I didnt not sleep with any other woman, I admited the kissing, But there is no sexual relation, I thought everyone know that.

But any way I apologize to everyone, just please keep looking at your husbands positive they need to talk and get support in whatever they do,

And to answer your Question Sara, I came to america after I made sure I will never fail in my marriage, but Some woman changes after the husbands start making money, and especially the mother in LAW

So, you're a Moroccan Muslim man - from the true "Muslim" lands.

I'm a Jordanian-American Muslim - born in the USA - and raised here. I never lived in the land of my family - except for a short time...

Yet I've never kissed women I wasn't married to - I guess, here in America, we learn to control ourselves.

(...and, for statements I make online- I'll put this disclaimer. I don't know any of you personally - you don't know who I am. What reason do I have to lie? I have nothing to gain, I have nothing to lose. Consider this - and believe me if you like. )

Strange... but from what I've seen in my travel, the state of affairs in the Middle East & general Arabia, is not good. I give you credit for your honesty at the least.

I tell you this - having dealt with a cheat, and seen cheating - I understand completely what her mother did. Of course she'd yell and throw you out, and if I were her brother - I'd have knocked your teeth out.

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )

Just to clear a few things up, I did not use my own words, the young Moroccans in cafes is overwhelming and that is just the facts. I am sure there are plenty of successfully marriages, but there are also a lot of horror stories too. Egypt has tons of con men also, so does America. To be honest my country here in America has the biggest con men so I don't sugar coat, I just hope that no one would ever suffer like this. No offense to anyone just be careful out there ok. Be careful of any man, I don't care what country he comes from, just know that there are good ones, but there sure are a lot more bad ones than good.

Are you married to a Moroccan or Egyptian? Are you in tthe visa process. Have you ever petitioned for anyone? Or are you just trolling the boards to make people feel bad? Has it ever occured to you that maybe some people met their Moroccan husbands this way and things are working out for them? I just do not understand why someone NOT IN THE PROCESS would hang around a visa board

- just because people dont have a timeline doesnt mean they arent going through/havent gone through the process. they might just be busy, lazy or too private to fill in a timeline.

- 95% of what gets discussed here doesnt have to do with a visa. more to do with marriage in general or marriage to someone from MENA. so i can see why people NOT IN THE PROCESS would hang out here.
