I was thinking that if I send my passport, (instead of making copies), along with my K-1 Visa Package, that it would help the process along. But if I do send it, will they send it back to me after they are finished reveiwing my K-1 package? Or can I just order another passport if they don't send it back.

Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

NO! Don't do that!!!

What if by accident your petition gets lost in the mail? What if you need to travel outside of the states for an emergency...do not do that.

You can also visit your fiance in her country during the K-1 process..this is good to show an on-going relationship which is needed at the interview...you can't travel there without a passport ;)

It won't speed the process along....

Send photocopies of your entire passport, that's what it asks for...copies.

It doesn't speed up the process and might result in your passport getting lost. Just photocopy it and send it along.

Sorry, I know I don't know a lot about this process, but where does it say that you have to send copies of your passport? From what I understood it's a copy of the front and back of the birth certificate or copies of every page of a US passport. I did send a copy of the front page of my passport and the page with the visa stamp from my last trip to Thailand, but this was part of the "proof of meeting in the past two years" part, and not anything to do with proving citizenship. Thought the birth certificate would suffice.

And yeah, don't send your passport in the mail. If it was something that was going to take one month maybe, but you can't be without it for 4 - 6 months mate.

Do not send your passport in the mail! It will NOT speed up the process in any way. USCIS does not guarantee returning anything back.

Make photocopies of your passport and send that to USCIS.

Did you make a copy of your birth certificate as well? If so you won't have a problem from what I understand.
