I've known a lot of people that work in fast food. Both present and past. They do NOT strive for customer service any more than they strive for quality. How many minimum wage paid teenagers really give a hoot whether or not you like your meal?

Fast food is junk and the service falls close behind. As others have mentioned, if you want a juicy and tasty hamburger, go to a mom and pop place. They use real ingredients, tend to do it all by hand and do not follow the fast food bible all workers must adhere to. The service tends to fall right in line with the taste of the burger.

I'll say it again, You get what you pay for. I'll pay $6.00 for a tasty juicy burger served with a smile, on a PLATE, with some French fries and a pickle on the side any day over that "meal" wrapped in a paoer bag by the latest 16 year old that was told get a job by his parents.

Fast Food = Poor Service, it is that simple. You get what you pay for.

Do you know anyone who works in fast food? I do. I can tell you that they strive for customer service. Everyone has to cooperate to accomplish some of those goals and that is not always the case. Also, if you ever sat in a fast food restaurant for any amount of time and just paid attention around you, you would see that the customers are not always right, nor are they even all that nice most times. I've seen horrors that make me ashamed of the people of my city sometimes.

It isn't just fast food either. I think customer service has issues everywhere. And, I feel there is an overabundance of rude customers, as well.

That being said, the BK incident was a bit over the top and I would be ticked off enough to call the corporate office and give them my story.

Laura, I have 2 rules for eatting in fast food joints:

#1 - Never drive-thru. The odds they won't give you what you asked is way higher because they know almost everybody will only find out they got their order messed up when they're too far away or have no time to come back.

#2 - Always have them repeating after you order and check if it's correct, if it's not, ask the politely to bring you what you ordered (you never know what they can do with your food if you treat them bad :P )

When they mess up like that you mentioned, don't threaten them, they don't give a sh!t, just get a piece of paper, a pen and ask for their names and have them spelling it, say thank you and then later on you contact the chain and make your complaint.

WhatABurger rules :)

oh yeah! I'd say I eat in fast food joints at most once a month, not even that, but Whataburger is really good, I'd eat there more often if they had one here, like every 3 weeks :P .

I actually just pointed out I hadn't asked for what she gave me, and I didn't complain or was mean, I didn't have time to do so, or the patience.

Nessa, she actually repeated the order to me the first time with the sundae issue.

I remember this little restaurant next to my apartment in Rio de Janeiro, with cheap, homemade food, where whatever soda we ordered, we got something else, after a few weeks eating there we finally learned and to order just one soda type and get surprise sodas daily. Me and my brother used to try and guess which soda we'd get that day.

Charles, this restaurant (it's closed since I used to go there) was in Copacabana, it was one of those 4 reais eat all you want for lunch deals. They always had rice, beans, 3 salads, two types of meat and two types of pasta to choose from.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Nah, that restaurant closed in 2002 I think. It was a tiny little thing, it was called Vindobona and was in Republica do Peru street.
