OK now this has been boiling up in me for a little while now and I think I need to let some steam off now........

Why is it that People had to ALL OVER SUDDEN file all at once just because the darn fee for the I 129 went up from 170$ to 455$ ???????

Now the Service Centers have a **** load of applications/petitions and we ALL get to see our loved ones later because they are so packed with petitions that it takes MUCH longer to process them!

Was saving that little bit of money REALLY worth it?!

Not in my eyes...

True WE couldn't put the papers in before the fee increase, but I just do not understand why everybody and their brother had to put papers in JUST before July 30th..........

For me,and many many many others THAT only means that we have too wait several weeks/months longer for our petitions to be approved..........and even the embassies have much longer wait times now........

Gee I have been waiting 2 years now to be able to put the papers in,and now due to that **** mentioned above there still is NO end in sight, well at least not anytime soon...............

Why are people putting money over LOVE?????

Remember it wasn't just the K1 and K3 that was going up. People who had to file AOS, AP, and other forms with fees going up meant the USCIS was going to be flooded with everything.

In my case it was ironic, but I planned on filing in July, but I filed as early as possible in July. I started the paperwork, reading up, and collections of the info in June.

There's nothing we could do though. It was just bad timing and it could very well delay the process for a few months, however since we can't control these things we should stay calm, breathe deeply, and realize most of us are in the same boat.

I hear ya. We got married at the end of July and really didn't have a whole lot of choice, but all y'all that waited till the last minute having been here in April? A good natured thrashing with a wet noodle.

Well, I filed right before the fee increase, but it was a matter of circumstances, not specifically to avoid the fee increase (but I am happy that we did). We FINALLY got my fiance's Decree Absolute on July 21st and sent in our already prepared packet that very same day. After waiting so long for his divorce to go through we didn't see any point in waiting any longer.

Plus there were delays for April filers and still for May filers. Its just a sucky time to be doing a K1. We'll all get there eventually.

Natashabrenda, methinks you meant I-129F (the K-1/K-3 form) rather than plain-jane I-129 (non-immigrant worker).

Can't say the fee increase didn't play a role in our getting our AOS/EAD paperwork in under the wire - we knew there would be more than usual people filing, but when it comes to double or nearly triple the fees, why not? It happens for nearly any fee increase.

I think after the spike, processing will resume its usual levels and even *cough* dare I say, even improve...

I would certainly HOPE that speed would improve on all sorts of processing with the huge fee increases!!! The USCIS ought to be able to go out and hire a BOATLOAD of competent paper-pushes at each service center!

Good luck--I wish you a speedy visa!:dance:

Really, there is something to complain about every stage of the process. Chalk it up to just part of the procedure!

Not to mention, nothing should be too much to bring our SO's here, IMO

Simple answer!

Yank your I-129F and wait for the rush to subside and file again in a few months. With all the new people they have hired you should get FAST approval! HUH?

Yeah I meant I 129F,and yes I know that the Government can't run on love..........

I'm just very upset and depressed latley.

We too have been waiting for his Divorce to FINALLY be achieved, waited for 18 months as a matter of fact because the ex filed several times (even before we met) and kept pulling it back, then when we filed last year she avoided service and James missed a Court Appointment due to papers mysteriously disappearing.Since he was an OTR Trucker at the time he had NO chance to fix things and the Divorce Case was dismissed in WA .Now she FINALLY did it and he was divorced September 14th.......

I was with him for 10 days from Sep 1st until Sep 10th (after 10 months and 19 days of seperation) and we got the papers ready so all we'd have to do is put the Divorce Decree in and mail all of it to CSC........

God we were hoping to FINALLY be together for good by April.........

My son hasn't seen my Finace in almost a year (he's only 6),my "family" here is completley against my Fiance and me and my boy moving to the US and his family overthere and our friends can't wait for us to come home.........

And we're stuck here.........

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we've just seen each other and I miss him even more now.......but at this point in time it's just killing me.

My heart,my thoughts, the biggest part of me is in WA with him but yet I have NO clue when I will finally be with him for good.

I know we're all sitting in the same boat, that's why I posted my rant here. Can't really talk to him about it cause he gets depressed when I get depressed and my family plain out told me they don't give a rats *** .

Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, just had to get it off my chest............

Look at it this way Natasha...you're ready to file, and you'll be in that long line you mentioned. That's a lot further than you've been before! Now that your fiancé's divorce is finally done and over with there is no more waiting to file. Yeah, it will take a while longer but look how long you've both held on to each other throughout this whole messy divorce thing. I've watched and hoped that something happen soon for you both and here it is...the time is finally here to file. At least now you're on the track to being together forever, which is your ultimate goal, yes? Hang on a bit longer...I know it's hard to come back off that low after seeing your beloved...been there done that too. All of us have and I'm not trying to negate your feelings either. That's what we're all here for...to support each other throughout this long arduous process. :)

Eh, they actually have to HAVE love to be able to even discuss "running on" it.

OK to rant, especially when you're considered as the "safe clobber-victim" for federal budget revenue-increase methods.

Q : How is USCIS planning to address this receipting delay?

USCIS is realigning its resources to eliminate the receipt delay as quickly as possible. This effort includes increasing the number of contract employees, as well as requiring significant mandatory overtime and shift work. USCIS also has temporarily detailed Government staff to centers that have been affected the most by the large influx of cases.

Well at least there is SOME hope........

KarenCee: Thanks for thinking of us through this Divorce Battle!!

To everyone else:

Thanks to ya all for the support and understanding!
