Shouldn't my case be complete by now?

Hi Trailmix,

 I would like to think that that's the case here, that its really good news, that everything with the DS230 forms and documents are all good. However, with the amount of time they have my DS230 seems to be odd than norm. Then, the question arises "What would happen if there is an RFE?". It's not funny to get any additional documents from Philippines local offices as it takes at least 3 days, plus the mailing system is not reliable. It actually cost a fortune to do all that, plus the agonizing waiting game and red tape with government agencies.

I just called DOS, not that I thought they will give more details, however I was still referred to NVC for more information on the case. I am not in the mood really to talk to any NVC as it will just cause heartache and headache if i hear the same thing again. I'll tie myself on the chair until tomorrow, then give them a call to get status.

Hope you get an update with yours, too.

Thanks again!

~ Rina

Hi there,

I did get through and although the IVR hadn't been updated to say they received my documents they actually received them today according to the operator, so that's good - still have to send them some additional info overnight - but that's ok too!

Don't let it get you down, they haven't had it incredibly long - I mean it's not wayyyy overdue so hang in there!! Let me know what you find out when you call :)

I demand some positive results before I will add it to the James' thread. They are only 1 week old, it takes NVC longer than that to perform most tasks. We are still trying them out. The IV fee bill one is a very wildcard, since there are only suggestions on how to handle the extra digits in the barcode on the bottom but nothing definite, not sure if or when that one will be tested.

The RFE form is as close to the actual as it can be, lacking only a mysterious 3-letter code in the footer which isn't even in the barcode. Myself and two others have sent stuff in with it so far, nothing has posted to our cases yet but we're getting close to the time for that.

Also, James has no responsibility for these, nor has he been contacted by me at least.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Now here comes the "impatient Megan" again rofl: About how long did it take for you guys to find out the interview date? I called twice and got similar answers. To call NVC back in 3 weeks and b/c of the way NVC does the interview process thing, my husband won't have a November interview and will be lucky to get a December one!

I know that everything happens for a reason but I'm praying that his interview won't be NEXT YEAR!!!

Any answers anyone on how long it takes (or took) to find out the interview date from the date of your case being complete?

Thanks! :)

My case was completed on the 10/10th, found out from the message on the 10/11th. And then on the 10/12th I called DOS and I was told I already got the interview date set for 11/15.

It's true what they told you to call on the 11/15th, since they do schedule their interview date every second of the week for the next month's interview. Your case was completed past that cut off time, missed it by one week for November interview.

Congratulations again!

Hi Guys,

Nov 2007 starts on Thursday next week. It is not a full week. From interview scheduling point of view what will be the second week of November? November 5 to 9

or Nov 12 to 16?

I have to decide if I spend a load of money to overnight my package to NVC in order to make it processed and completed before the end of the second week of November.

Also, James has no responsibility for these, nor has he been contacted by me at least.

Just thinking about the whole RFE thing this morning. Overview:

- Told receiving RFE for DS-230 - make my own cover letter and send new DS-230 - delivered Sept 27th - acknowledged early October.

- Receive hard copy RFE, need an additional document, overnight to NVC the next day - delivered Oct 3rd, acknowledged October 9th.

So, I still keep getting the IVR message - that they are sending me a 2nd RFE, for that additional document they acknowledged they received on Oct 9th.

All of the operators I have spoken to say, ignore that 2nd RFE, they are still reviewing that 2nd set of documents you sent - however they have now 'officially' had it for 2 weeks - which seems strange to me (oh and in theory they say they mailed out this 2nd RFE on Oct 12th - still haven't received it).

So in talking to NVC yesterday, the guy tells me, I will have a supervisor look at this (then the old 2-3 weeks for them to look at it). So I say well maybe I should just send it AGAIN. He told me I could email it in, which is probably not right - but I did anyway!

Anyway I am pretty much just rambling, but it seems odd to me that they have had all the documents they requested for 2 weeks and no 'case complete' yet.

One thing that concerns me is that my Husband actually has 2 Canadian Permanent residency documents. The original document is a long form record of landing that they did away with in 2003 - all perm residents now have to have a little plastic card (which is what I sent - copy of the card). So now I have emailed them a copy of that AND a copy of the long form (no longer valid) landing record.

Anyway, I think I am wasting my time and nothing I can do now will make them move any faster (or slower!).

Ok, done rambling for the moment :)
