Well got the letterthrough giving the reason why I was denied.

It was because they said they sent me an RFE (never recieved) asking for the $70 for it. I went in and paid the fee on day number 88, it apparently had to be paid by day 87, how convenient and suspect!!! They said at time of letter (21st Aug) they had not received payment of Biometrics, even though I paid it 18th July and have a receipt as well as my finger print results back, so who has the $70 if not them?...

Got to see lawyer now and possibly re-apply, pain in the #######!

AOS and EAD Timeline

AWW that is terrible !! I am sorry for you, don't they give you a chance to appeal? don't know but maybe is easier now that they give you their "reason". Good luck !

Been there so I know how you feel getting a denial letter.

Just do the things you need to do, if you need a lawyer to assist you do the MTR, it will be better, in fact I didn't pay the Motion to Reconsider fee because it's the fault of USCIS ( cancelled interview victim) that's what my lawyer said.

Stay focus and trust me, you will eventually get the GC, in my case I waited 9 months to finally got an interview letter and I was indeed approved (easy interview), just waiting now for the card to arrived anytime.

Also, a prayer definitely helps. Good luck and be positive!

That's horrible. We never received our RFE. When I figured out that the had sent one on the USCIS website, I found out that it was sent to someone else in an envelope meant for her.

If we wouldn't have found out and the girl wouldn't have sent it to me, we could have been denied too, because we wouldn't have known about the RFE either. You should request for an appeal. We asked for an extension of the RFE application time and they submitted that to us.

It's insane people get denied by administrative mistakes of some USCIS employee.

Geez, that's scary. I wonder if the system is set up to automatically deny applications if the RFE is not sent in by the 87th day or if they simply didn't record that you had made the payment. Did your online status ever change to say that they had received your RFE? Mine never changed to say that they had sent me one, but it did change after they received my response back to them. Hopefully if this is USCIS's fault (they never recorded that you had provided the $70.00), then you won't need to fork out more cash to have your case reopened.
