:help: Hi! As I was reading through the medical examination that I will be undergoing soon... I was anxious about the vaccination requirements.

As i remember, way back in college days, our school gave us 2 shots of TT1 and TT2 but they haven't given the rest of it. But majority to their requirement, I haven't hd those yet. Should I start completing them all as soon as possible? Or it is not necessary to have those vaccines on me?

I'm kind of scared to having all those shots! OUCH! Lol! I hate needle to be honest. :crying:

You will be given any missing vaccines with the medical. It doesn't have to be done in your home country, but it will probably be cheapest.

what sort of documentation is required, to prove previous shots? I've had quite a few of them but finding paperwork on them is going to be next to impossible, given that I'm not living in my home country and haven't been for almost three years...

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

:help: I don't really know exactly how to present a document proving I already have my TT1 and TT2 as well as with my Hepa A & Hepa B vaccine because I never really asked at all... Is it still possible for me to ask my physician?

Unless he has a strict no questions policy then sure, you can ask him.

Now was it him that gave you those vaccines and whether he will will still have records of it thats another matter. But you can ask him.

Bring the list of vaccinations needed to your family doctor and let them decide which ones are needed as per your file, and once completed you should get a certificate (fact sheet) stating the shots you have received and the date they were received to bring to the medical examination. There is no harm in doing the ones you can't remember having had done or the ones there is no documentation for.

Vaccination Requirements

All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus and diptheria toxoids

Pertussis

Influenza type B

Hepatitis B

Varicella

Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

My wife got an official medical certificate, with three government stamps (it is Russia, after all) detailing both her vaccination history and the fact that she had chicken pox as a child.

Given her age, and her vaccination history, it turns out that she won't need any. A lot of the vaccines on the list are appropriate for only certain age groups. Many are given only to children -- and presumably a fiance or spouse won't need to get those. But be careful: clinics both overseas and the USA can be prone to pushing vaccinations that are not needing according to US Govt regulations. Hepatitis B is one example of this. Varicella can be another.

Well what happened to me, was that I ask my mother to send me my record of shots. And even they were in Spanish the doctors didn’t seem to matter!

I am sure you all ready have them, cause mainly they are shots that you take when you are a child. Even though, they made me take the tetanus one cause you have to take them every two years… if I remember well.

I hope this will help you ^_^

This link is to a CDC (Centers for Disease Control) website that clearly states the ages for which various vaccines are considered "age-appropriate" and therefore required.

For instance, someone older than 19 years old is not required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B. Someone born in 1956 or earlier is not required to get a MMR vaccine.

On the other hand, if you are a US Citizen proposing to marry a 3 month old baby (which is currently legal in Arkansas, with consent of the parents -- don't know how USCIS would respond), the baby would be required to have an IPV vaccine, but not if the fiance(e) were over the age of 17 years.

So varicella is not really required either?

I did not know.

Another thing I do not understand is why HepaB is only appropriate for people under 19?... What, if I am 25 I can not get infected with HepaB?

Uff.. I hate needles too.

If you can demonstrate that you've had chicken pox (or show a positive antibody test for varicella) then according to the guidelines you do not need them. I'm not clear on why the guidelines do not require HepB vaccines for people over 18, but that is what the guidelines say. Elsewhere on this site you can find medical practitioners (a dentist comes to mind) who thought it important for an adult beneficiary to avoid this vaccine.
