A busy weekend and a busy Easter Sunday at our house.

My wife's daughter and kids and husband arrived very late on Friday.  Not sure why as they only live about an hour and a half away.  Apparently something to do with the wacky Brit husband.

Today, Easter, we had not only my step daughter's family but also my daughter and her little twins, and some of our Jewish friends and their little ones over for Easter egg hunting and a meal pool side followed by swimming in the pool.  Really was a great time.  Must have had a couple hundred plastic eggs with surprises inside for the kids to collect.  Pizza, salads, drinks and desserts.

Thought the step daughter and her family would be leaving in the early afternoon, but by 6:30 pm my wife asked me why they were still here.  Guess they are staying another day or....?   We will see.  And the incredible mess they make of the house.  Grrr

Well my little Tornado passed her learner's permit. She is so excited she could hardly contain herself.

Kid2 has little interest so far about getting the ole permit.  He's going to be 16 in May, but the H-Town metro isn't exactly the friendliest place to drive.

We decided to mow full lawn, high time man.

I thought I'd read a bit ago that you'd hired the neighbor's lawn guys?

Working on a mini reno for Kid1's room.  Eventually (likely September), Kid2 will move into there.  Cleaned the carpet (its one of the only rooms that still has carpet - soon to be replaced with hardwood) and 🤢...so gross.  She also got paint or marker on the carpet that is impossible to get out.  We're building a new desk/table.  Hubs used Rubio Monocoat to stain/seal the butcherblock top in one step.  We'll also be installing some shelves, which one of us will stain/seal today.  The new dresser comes on the 15th.

In November, we'd already done the first part of the reno.  We bought Artika oak acoustic slat panels from Costco for a really great price and stuck those up.  I'd changed her bedding and curtains to something more girlie (yeah, she's decided, after being a young, angsty teen that in her late teens, embracing her girlie side was good) so a fuzzy, dusty pink boho duvet cover and moss green velvet curtains.  It looks good and the panels definitely deaden the sound.  Fun fact with the panels - they are straight because we used a laser level to install them.  The floor, however, is not.  Ole builder grade quality!  That will have to get sorted when we install the hardwoods.

Had to flip the thermostats back to heat/cool.  Kid2 came downstairs last night and said "I need some heat!".  It was a fair request since his room does get warmer or colder than the rest typically due to the cantilever floor in his room being either not insulated or insufficiently insulated and he does have wood floors.  Once again, builder quality! I'd lit the fireplace because it had dropped below 68°.  I don't do below 73°, especially not when it's damp and cold.  The heat is running as I type this.  So is the dehumidifier upstairs - not shocking considering the carpet cleaner!

She was dragging her feet. She's been slowly studying since she turn 14. The Hillbilly was itching for her to get it down more than her. My older kids waited until they were 16 and 17 ish.

They did finally leave shortly after we returned from work.

My wife and I are usually able to keep this large house clean and tidy by our selves, but my wife does have a cleaning lady on standby.

Those kids managed to mess up all 4000 sq ft, and also the pool side in the back.  Cleaning folks will be here tomorrow or the next day to

get things back to normal.

Breakfast for us was 2 of Mini-B.'s chicken melts, ingest we man.

A siesta was then taken, zzz we man.

We dreamed of being at an ES in the largest casa that we'd ever seen, quite vivid man.

Through the whole thing, we bought 2 unremarkable items for $1 + half-of-half a buck each, not skunked man.

It is good to dream about one's passions, si man.

And if we can't dream about rubias, at least we can dream about ESs, conclude we man.

Lunch was 2 turkey-&-Swiss sandwiches, ingest we man.

Saw new doctor, British Indian he man.

Never have we met anyone more laid-back, nonaggressive he man.

He defers to our one doctor for imaging, defer he man.

He defers to our other doctor for Rx management, defer he man.

He will run a couple of tests on us on Wednesday, at least there's that man.

Got out just in time for after-skool gridlock, :ranting:  man.

If a genie offered us Many wishes, one of ours would be the following, see man:

Replace all Skoolzone speed limits with signs saying "So Many Pedestrians... So Little Time," si man.

Had to gas T-B.-mobile, Costco proximal man.

Place was beyond mobbed at half-past Many p.m., pent-up demand from Easter closure perhaps man.

Mini-B. was lobbying us to bring something for din-din, lobby wee man we man man.

We decided to order a Costco 'roni 'za, si man.

We left with one after sweet-talking the 'za girl into jumping us ahead of a Manyzen others,  man.

Din-din was the referenced Costco 'roni 'za + r'b'r, ingest Two Guys man.

Costco 'za is distinctly of poorer quality of at least 2 other local 'za emporia, conclude we man.

However, Costco 'za is half the price of said other local 'za emporia, therefore best 'za ever man.

Mini-B. didn't want a movie night, study for State Inglish exam on Tuesday man.

No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

We revisit one doc Tuesday morn, opportune caucus time opened up man.

Then Mama T-B. wants us to "pop in for just a minute," yeah right man.

We need to get/deliver some stuff for Uncle T-B., si man.

And that was/is our thrilling Monday, report we man.
