I’m drunk and this k1 stuff sucks. I didn’t even get a noa1 yet and my anxiety is through the roof from uncertainty. I just needed a place to say that. Nobody around me understands because nobody is doing it. My friends and family dont get me. So I stumbled into this thread. Gonna try to sleep this off. I miss my fiance so bad it hurts. Like a slow torture.

@shawnaroxanne Welcome to this crazy corner of VJ.  We all can sympathize with you.  The drinking can help sometimes, but it did get me into a little trouble a few times years ago when I wrote some things here I really shouldn't have! LOL   Some mods may remember.... But honestly it's all a wild roller coaster and will eventually be over and worth it.

Feel free to share your thoughts and fears.  We will try to help, but beware when we get to know you better we may tease you a little.  It's all in good fun.  Would be interesting to know more about you like where you fiance is from, etc.

Again welcome, and strap in for the ride.

Took a day off from chopping the ice and went back at it yesterday. The 'iceberg' has not melted much... 4 degrees this morning. But hitting it with my shovel and a hammer has provided some stress relief. Looks like blizzard #2 will sadly miss us, but might be some flurries.

We learned of the passing of my husband's grandfather. He was the sort of man you could quintessentially describe as an absolute English gentleman. Tall, kind, dry-humored, full of stories.. with a twinkle in his eye. Always impeccably dressed. He loved his gardens, tea, finer things of life, and traveling. His grandfather's health began to decline after the loss of his wife, and not long after my husband left the UK. When we visited, he no longer had a memory of anyone because of severe dementia and he battled illness after illness... each time beating the odds.

Take some comfort in the fact that once it's over, there will be no more sleepless nights, no missing each other, and no more empty rooms.

Hahaha I can take jokes! They make me feel better, I can laugh at myself often. I was being really dramatic last night. It does suck but I was in the dark listening to the entire Strange & Beautiful album by Aqualung just sad af 🤣 marinating in my melancholy. Hahaha. The wine made it worse, perhaps I’ll try tequila next time I’ll come in raging like my dad 🙄🙄🤣

im in Cleveland OH, originally from Pittsburgh. I’m a musician I actually met my fiance on the cruise ship I performed on and he worked on as a personal trainer! He’s from South Africa.

I sent my petition like 1/22 and my baseline without the visa process is already anxious so this just made it worse 😭 the snowstorm up here halted the delivery to USCIS for now and I recently quit toking so I’m like feeing all these strange things called feelings and I hate them lmao

You know what? ChatGPT said something similar. It told me this pain is finite and I’m like looking at the barely available before 2024 evidence of people doing k1 with South Africans and so much has changed I don’t know whether to expect 6 months or 14 😵‍💫 but you’re right. I’m really sorry to hear about your grandfather in law, had you visited him prior to the dementia at all? Or your first visit was during his decline?

dementia is such a heartbreaking experience. I think it’s worse than a sudden death. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve gone through it.
