is it safe for my parents to travel to the US with their tourist visa while their I130 is pending?

Hello Im a US Citizen I want to file my parents green card I130 via consular proceedings, my question is once the petition is in process can my parents visit me in the US safely with their US tourist visa, without risk of being denied entry at the airport? Please let me know your thoughts, or what documents would support my parents case at the airport that the visit is only for a short term tourism and they will go back to their country to contiue their I130 via consular proceedings.

Which country are they from? There is always a risk, a visa doesn’t guarantee entry, but plenty of people visit with a pending I-130 with no issues. They should take proof of ties to their home country i.e. evidence of annual leave from a job, house, business, any other children etc.

As you’re asking about a tourist visa, I’ll move this thread to the relevant forum.

Good luck.

Thanks so much for your response, they are from Ecuador, they already have their b1/b2 visa, I will sponsor their green card in 1 month, so by the time they come in december as tourist I was wondering if in the airport they will have an issue, my parents have great travel record, never over stayed, and always their stay in the US has been for 2 weeks or less.

Should not be an issue, but of course entry on a B2 is never guaranteed.  Having a good travel record is a plus.

Good Luck!

We have a mega three on people traveling without issue.

Entry is always at the discretion of cbp for non citizens with visa
