N400 April 2025 filers

Yes, it's normal. Each case is individual. It's processed by different people and adjudicated by different officers. Cases are not processed on strictly first in first out basis. For example, my friend filed I-751 two weeks after me. Got approval like 4-5 months earlier than me. Same age, same occupation, same marital history, same nationality etc. You just never know.

 I finally did interview this Tues. Been told from now on , no more same day oath ceremony after approval, this was just changed recently.

And my officer told me it is across the country, so if you can not get same day oath it is normal from now on I guess.

She said there is backlog so best not travel in 30-90 days, though she told me could check with USCIS if not hear anything after 3 weeks, I will see.

Saw some posts in other place saying their oath has been canceled recently because of the shutdown in same state, just some heads up. Office: Portland, OR

Yeah that's right.

The average time for the oath ceremony to be scheduled after the approval is now between two to three weeks in most cases.

Congratulations! My wife had her interview October 17th and received oath notice 2 weeks later for Dec 3. Also Portland field office

Hi, I am new here, I have interview next month, I got my greencard 5 years ago, I came to US on a visitor visa and over stayed for many years, my son a US citizen petition me and my I485 and I130 was approved. Apart from my overstay everything is all good, do I need to worry about this at my citizenship interview?

I heard at some offices ICE is there and USCIS is doing a denying based on overstay.

You are an immediate relative of US citizen. - https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-eligibility/green-card-for-immediate-relatives-of-us-citizen

 

As long as you disclosed your overstay during adjustment, it was forgiven and you have nothing to worry about.

They both got their interview notice within a week I posted this. The weird thing is they both got their notice the same day and their interview is also on the same day. Moreover, they submitted their N400 application on different days.

Had my retest civics test Tuesday December 2nd (as I didn’t pass the first time) at the Baltimore field office.

It took me over 2 hours to be seen. My appointment was for 11am and I got called up at around 1:20pm.

 

This time around I studied all 128 questions through the YouTube videos suggested and went in prepared.

The officer only asked me 6 questions and then told me I’d passed (I thought I’d need 12 correct as I thought they’d changed the test November 1st)

Second part was the interview and as I’m divorced they did ask a lot of questions about my marriage and at the end said they were unable to make a decision.

I left the field office and about 20 minutes later had an update online that my case was approved and that the oath ceremony was to be scheduled!

You were still under the normal 💯 questions civics test because your N-400 was submitted before the promulgation of the new rule provision civic Test.

The law is not Retroactive.
