One question though, have either of you had a previous petition or been denied a Visa in the past? It is pretty common for an "Administrative Review" (most are very short duration) to happen if this is the case.

No but I have two prior trips to US, one on J1 (long ago) and one on B1 (recent) visa. Perhaps this causes extended security checks.

Maybe that is it. I don't understand the reasoning at all, but some of you Russian Beneficiaries are seeing this. It is routine and nothing to worry about, especially with no prior K-1.

Hang in there.

Congrats!

Best of luck, you two are just "Blazing Along". Most of us would kill for your timeline.

As of yesterday, NVC didn't have our paperwork yet - I'm hoping they'll get it by the end of the week at least.

In the meantime, I'm trying to put the finishing touches on the packet to be sent to my fiance, but I'm not sure about something and I'm hoping y'all can clue me in :help:

I know the embassy wants original versions of the birth certificates, but what about:

cards/letters

plane ticket stubs

NOA1 and NOA2

Do they need the __originals__ of those as well, or can I just give them copies??? Thanks in advance!

Best of luck to everyone as we all continue our journey :)

However, with the bowling ball removed from my ankle, perhaps i will be slightly more agile than before. Nice to join the big boys in the NOA2ers club. Best of luck to all of you..........

Check with the Embassy (Website?) most likely just originals of the evidence of the relationship, all of your flight(s) information (boarding passes et. al) cards/letters, and more photos. The NOA1 and NOA2 I-797's are normally not required, they received the approved petition it was approved when they touched it, so that might be overkill. Check the NL Embassy though they will most likely have a section listin what you need to have for it.

Does anyone know where we can look or call to find out if the embassy has received our case? Not that NVC has sent it, cause i already got that information. I'm strictly just looking for info once the embassy receives it.

I've been checking March filers and in almost all of there timelines, they include dates of when Embassy's have received it and what date they sent out packet 3. Where can i get this info?

Thanks

That's a great question! I would like to know that myself.

So, i guess no one knew the answer to this? :help:

Right, when we received packet 3 it didn't mention the date they received it, just that they "are ready to process our case"

The only way to find that out (as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong!) is to contact the embassy and ask them directly. Same thing with NVC...But the NVC was really the least helpful point through the process, their line is always busy, and they have a lot of delay answering emails... they answered ours days after sending our packet to the embassy, saying only that we should forward all inquires to the embassy now (mmm...right...doesn't make much sense when I'm asking what day did the NVC receive our papers and what day did they send them out)

The embassy has been very helpful so far; they answer our emails within a few hours, and demonstrate willingness to help.

Saludos,

Caro

Thank you Caro, appreciate the info. My Fiance told me that in order to call the London Embassy, they are asking for some ridiculous amount of money. Something like 25 pounds direct call or a pound a minute (probably put me on hold for 30 minutes), they're not making it very easy to ask a simple question. I might try emailing, i just don't want to confuse them further, they don't seam to be the brightest people working at these places. So, maybe I'll wait just a bit longer.

thanks again mate

I involved my Congressman yesterday and was pleased to get an very polite and attentive visa assistant. I was informed today that my case was expedited to NVC. Now all I have to do is get an appointment, any appointment, and she will then call again and get that expedited up. Man, do I feel lucky. I recommend seeing if you are also so lucky to have good representation...For once in the last few months I feel good about this process. Now I have an ally within the same government that takes eons to approve our petitions.

Unfortunately you have to call the £1.20 a minute line if you want to know anything from London, and also if you want to emaill them too as you have to get the weekly code to put in the subject line otherwise they will delete and not respond to your email.

I think that they will already have your petition and packet 3 is on its way

good luck
